The Photographer
Namjoon suggested that we should get to know each other before we start working together as a group or in case we need each other's company.
I'm down for anything as long as it can help me forget the miserable excuse of a life I'm living.
I hope he's not too disappointed when he comes to know I'll be quitting this club. I don't know what turn my mind will make after a few days of experience, but I surely know that photography wasn't originally my first preference when it came to joining clubs.
I always preferred F/C Club (any club you like besides Photography, of course) because I was genuinely interested in taking part. But now, thanks to certain someone, the spark had died, and I'm no longer interested in joining anything but my friends when they wanna hang out.
In their houses.
"I'm not really new to the world of photography, but I'm pretty new to the fact that there are several ways of taking photos. You can identify them by very minute details." Namjoon addressed, his eyes sparkling with immense dedication. I wish I had that kind of attachment to photography, but alas, I'm just a loser who appreciates it from a distance.
I just take photos of candid incidents or unusual things with my phone camera whenever I lay my eyes on them. Those hard to miss situational photos are my only centre of attention.
"That's actually a very factual piece of information." I did appreciate each piece of information he provided me. It shows how much he's into his hobby and decides to convey it with me.
Me, a snobby girl who's going to quit soon as she finds out the person who submitted her name.
"Do you have a certain liking towards any themes of your props?"
He nodded.
"I like to take pictures of nature, plant, and flowers specifically. I know, lame and very unoriginal, but if I can take pictures of these beautiful creatures that compose of the abiotic world in my own way, then why wouldn't I like it?" He made a cute pouty face, and I swear I was on the verge of squealing very loudly.
"I try to be aesthetic too. Nobody just wants a regular photo of a plant like it belongs to some site used to snatch information from."
I mean, he's not wrong.
I should find a theme, too. I don't get why Jimin suggested me humans. They're boring. I think he was trying to hint at himself. But boy, if I start taking his photos, then I'll probably get slapped with a baking tray by Jin for not taking his photos instead.
Yeah, no, I'm not taking photos of humans.
"What do you have in mind?"
I shifted my gaze towards the brunet, who had successfully managed to grab my attention. I saw him staring at me intently, and I couldn't help but feel shy.
"Just wondering what should be my prop."
"Please don't select humans." He advised, his tone sounding like he was literally begging on his knees. It was so goddamn hilarious that I had to laugh.
"What? I'm serious! Jin hyung will call you at the worst time to take his photos."
"Who said I'm using him as my prop?" I replied sassily, whipping my hair only to get smacked on the face.
Mental note to self: Don't try to act out what they show you in movies. it doesn't work.
He was laughing now. His dimples were so prominent that one could easily focus on those instead of his face. But he's so adorable, he's hard to resist. So you should give full attention to every piece of him.
I should stop.
"You won't," he looked away dramatically. "But he'll make you."
He's not wrong. He'll try his best to at least have one selfies of his to make it to my camera. It doesn't matter if he tries to connect with the world's biggest hacker to find out the password of my safe where I hid my camera.
But wait, why doesn't he allow Namjoon to take his photo?
"Before you ask me, why doesn't Jin hyung let me take his photos, is because, according to him, I can't take pictures of moving things, let alone keep up with the pace of him changing poses." He looked back at me.
Oh.
Wait a minute, how did he know what I was thinking?
"I didn't know what you had in mind, I just wanted to clear things up."
If that isn't mind reading, then I don't know what is.
"Isn't it clear?" I asked to no one in particular.
Namjoon pouted at my question but gave me an 'alright go ahead' look.
"That we both have no clue how to use a damn camera," I paused, but then remembering Namjoon has more experience than me. "I mean, you're of course more used to it than me, but you know―"
"I get you, and I agree."
He seemed pretty casual about it. Probably because he knows he'll gradually learn and be able to take breath taking photos, unlike me, a joke, who needs proper sessions to learn something. Considering his level of intelligence, he'll grasp up in no time. I have to leave this club, but the thought of not being able to take decent photos with such a high-class camera is messing up with my mind.
I genuinely want to learn how to take photos now, for my own sake.
"Worry not, I have everything solved out." He had a delighted expression on his face.
"We'll take lessons."
I saw that coming. Sounds great, but I know it'll be a pain in the ass. But I'll be at least good. It'll be worth giving a try. And the look on B/N's notorious face will totally pay off once he sees me not slacking off, so yeah, I'm taking lessons.
"Great! Count me in!" I've never felt such enthusiasm before when it came to a genre regarding photography, but now I do. I just want to prove people like Mr. Kang that I can actually take photos.
The mood swing from just 5 minutes ago is real. But if I think about it, spending time with Namjoon wouldn't be a problem, so that's a win in my dictionary.
"So it's my time to come into the spotlight?" A faint deep voice echoed in the college rooftop. It could either be the janitor, which I hope it's not, or it could be Taehyung- who I'll gladly accept.
Namjoon's face scrunched up as he turned towards the source of the sound. Then, he walked towards us a tall and blond man, Kim Taehyung. What a work of nature.
Nice. Very nice.
Thank God, you didn't disappoint this time.
"Were you eavesdropping?" Namjoon raised an eyebrow at him in a judgmental manner. But he didn't seem fazed and instead showed his signature boxy smile.
"No, hyung, I was just passing by then I saw you two. You both looked so invested in your topic, so I thought I'd not bother you and listen from a distance."
"That's called eavesdropping."
Taehyung's face looked like he had just seen some bullshit he wasn't supposed to, but he immediately recovered back.
"No hyung, I believe 'observation' is the correct word." He smiled again. Namjoon rolled his eyes, but he looked thankful for his appearance, too.
"So Y/N," my attention averted towards the bubbly blond man, "I'll be giving you and Namjoon hyung photography lessons!" He cheered excitedly.
"Wait, what?" I asked, clearly dumbfounded or too surprised to let the thoughts sink in my mind.
"Oh, don't you know, Y/N?" Taehyung tilted his head in confusion. "I helped Namjoon hyung take photos."
I blinked a few times at him.
"Yes," he chuckled. "I'm 'the photographer'."
