The song "epiphany" by Taylor Swift would go well with this. Just a recommendation, haha. Or not. Do what you want, lol.

The Not So Ordinary Office Day

"I'm bored."

The lady lets out the loudest screech known to man in her seat at my sudden appearance. I shouldn't have scared her that much, I made her spill her lemon water.

Poor lemon water.

She sits back up and gives me a soulless stare, I shrug, going back to my workspace.

I guess she didn't like that.

"Y/N, don't do that." My good friend Fariah says. Even though she was looking after me, she still had a slight smile on her face. She was trying not to burst into laughter.

I smirk, hoping she'll give in and laugh. She has a beautiful laugh, I would deliberately make her laugh just to hear that bubbly and joyful voice of her finding something funny.

"I'm boreeeeeed Fariah!" I cry out dramatically, ducking my head down on the desk. She rolls her eyes at my childishness and starts typing on her keyboard again.

I hum in pleasure. I loved the sound of typing in a semi silent workspace. The ambiance of people chattering slowly in the background whilst somebody typed their presentation beside me was one of the most pleasing things I had heard. It calmed me down a lot. The rhythmic pressing of buttons of a mechanical keyboard can not be matched.

"I told you we'll get sundaes once I'm done with this presentation." She reminds me whilst still working on her project. I huff in annoyance but eventually let her work in peace. If I want a sundae, then I'll have to sacrifice my boredom aside in order for her to be done with the work smoothly.

I close my eyes and listen to the sounds that this room created. Several workers are working in a room, yet their voices are blurred out in my mind. I just feel grateful to be done with work earlier than usual.

"Water my burro's tail, will you?" She asks, eyes not leaving the screen for once. That's why we clicked. Nothing could distract us from work if we took it seriously.

I nodded even though I knew she wouldn't be able to see me do so. I got up, grabbed a paper cup from beside the water cooler, and filled it before walking back to my desk.

I sit down on my revolving chair and notice 3 small succulents cramped up at the inner corner of her work desk. I frown, having no clue which succulent was burro's tail.

"Fariah.." I called her out, and she hummed in response. "Which one is the burro's tail?" I pick up a random succulent and start observing it. It was a cute little round plant boi/girl/peep, perfect to make work desks more lively.

"No- not that one." She briefly looks up from her computer screen. "The one in the red pot."

"Ohh!" I picked up the burro's tail and watered it neatly. Fariah had already told me how much water each one of them needed. They all needed the same amount to be frank, but I can't just remember which one's which.

Fariah loved plants. She's such a plant nerd, and it's honestly so adorable. Every day, she'd tell me anecdotes about how she found little sprouts blooming at the cracks of walls and pavements. It was so delightful to listen to.

What's sad is that she reminds me so much of him.... He loves plants and flowers more than anything. She shares the same passion and energy as him. I'm sure they would be great plant friends if he was here, he'd be more than pleased to meet this charming and gorgeous girl.
