The Gifts

"MUMMMMAAAAA!"

I quickly got up from my bed and ran out from my room, trying to find my mum. B/N opened the door to his room, his hair badly tousled and an expression on his face that resembled offence.

"WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING? IT'S 7:28 AM GODDAMMIT!"

Ignoring the elder's cries, I rushed downstairs almost stumbling and on the verge of tripping and falling flat face down.

I saw mum typing obnoxiously on her phone, she glances at me then back at her phone then back at me as she gets alarmed of my presence.

"MUM, I FORGOT TO GIVE MY FRIENDS THEIR CHRISTMAS GIFTS."

She waved it off, turning her gaze back to her phone.

"Good morning to you too. Don't worry about that, I gave the gifts to them while you were passed out. And that smart guy-"

"Namjoon." I spoke out way too excitedly. But the guilt of me not personally handing my gifts to my friends irked me.

A smile crept upon her face as she nodded. "Yes, Namjoon. I have given him free coupons."

"Coupons?"

"Free coupons to visit our home any time. Such a lovely guy, he helped me out a lot last night, with guests and stuff. The look on his face when he saw you passed out, he was so worried."

I instantly blushed. Never has anybody cared this much about me, I don't deserve Namjoon and that's the tea.

"You caught a good one. Never I would've thought that my daughter who's inexperienced with love and... socializing in general... will catch the biggest fish in the pond. I'd like to talk to him again you know? Have afternoon tea and crumpets."

"Mum that's such a stereotype." I scoffed at the thought of my mum and Namjoon dressed formally, legs crossed as they drink tea from a royal tea cup along with crumpets and biscuits.

"Huh? Doesn't matter, we'll make it work. You might see me in a kimono too, preparing green tea traditionally for that guy. Now go shoo, unlike you I have friends to talk to." She shooed me away as her laughter echoed through the lounge, making it look like she heard the biggest joke in her life.

Mum in a kimono? God please no, she doesn't even understand what non sense she spilled.

I walk back to my room, my brother was standing out of his room, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes and closed the door to my room.

The scent of flowers welcomed me and I plopped down on the bed. I suddenly remembered about the gift that Namjoon gave me and decided to open it.

I saw some flowers attached to it and I gasped. I should've opened it ages ago but oh well. The four flowers were purple and I wondered what it meant.

I put the flowers in a vase that I had bought for myself because I wanted to buy some flowers but I guess Namjoon did the work for me.

I carefully tried to untie the ribbon and it surprisingly worked. But when it came to unwrapping the gift I always lost. I tore it apart, no matter how hard I try to open it beautifully, it just never works.

There was a plushie. I held it up to observe it carefully. It was a blue koala with purple nose and its eyes were closed, maybe thinking too much or sleeping. Sleeping I guess. It was so adorable that I hugged it tightly, foolishly hoping it becomes real so I can cuddle with it.

There was another box, I pouted.

He's spoiling me too much.

I carefully picked it up. It was a telescope. I squealed so loudly that I heard birds fluttering their wings and flying away. I wonder how he knew I always wanted to look at the night sky. I'm convinced that he's a mind reader.
