Mikasa pov-

We were training today as we had no missions Minato said we'd be sparring and unfortunately he put me against Kakashi I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about this. "Anything goes... Begin" Minato stated.

I stared at kakashi studying his every movement as I waited for him to make the first move Kakashi stared at me back before he said "are you going to make the first move?" But I didn't move so he gritted his teeth and said "fine then I will" he charges towards me with his fist out, I effortlessly caught his fist that was going towards my face I wasn't surprised at the force behind his hand at all but I knew it was a diversion as it wasn't his most powerful hand, his other hand rose to hit my chin but I caught that also, just barely though, I then rose my knee and kneed him in the stomach before he stumbled back a bit, I then duck low and go to kick his feet from underneath him but instead he flips back a few feet. I smirked knowing that he didn't land a hit on me. We then both started to make rapid hand signs.
"Fireball Jutsu" Kakashi yelled a milliseconds before I yelled "water ball Jutsu" the collision of our two jutsus created a smoke screen which I was happy about as I could sense chakra as the Fernandez clan specialises in speed and sensory. The I felt Kakashis chakra split into two... A clone... I threw a kunai and the clone just about dodges it before throwing one back at me which scraped my shoulder, I glanced at the cut before shrugging it off I then threw two kunai one in the shadow of the other, Kakashi deflected the first but the second hit him on his chest, it dug into him and I head him grunt, I then rapidly make hand signs and sent out water bullets which hit its target perfectly but Kakashis suprise shurikin also hit me, right in my elbow, I bit back a grunt before Minato called the match to a end as he thinks it's unsafe for us to fight when he can't see us. Rin rushed over to Kakashi and healed his wounds and I quickly hid mine and obito told me if Rin finds out I'm hiding my wounds she would be mad but I knew it's fine because she most likely didn't notice me.

"Nice timing right?" Kushina asked as she slapped down a big basket onto obito head and he looked up at her in slight fear.
"Kushina! Yay" Rin yelled running over to the red haired lady with a big smile on her face.
"You all doing your best?" She asked with a motherly smile.
"They're doing great. We were just about to take a break" Minato said as he smiled softly at his wife.
"That's good. Heres lunch with your order, it's kushinas special" she said kindly with a wink as she handed the basket to Rin.
"All right! I love the food you make, kushina! Thanks!" Rin said really happily. Kushina was extremely happy with the complement and pulled Rin into a hug.
"Ump" obito huffed as he folded his arms and turned his back on kushina.
"Let me get this straight. I take the time to bring lunch all the way out here to you guys at that's the kind of thanks I get from you? Hmmmm?" Kushina stated pretty annoyed with obito.
"I didn't ask you to do that! I'm not even hungry" he replied stubbornly and I smiled softly at the scene. Obito was soon betrayed by the rumbling of his stomach making kushina sigh "trying to be tough is okay but first go and eat something I mean you can't fight on an empty stomach can you?" She said soothingly.
"I don't want it! I won't take anyone's handouts! I can fight without food!" Obito resorted.
"Heyyy you're pretty manly... Yeah right like I'd ever say something like that to you!! Now no more out of you! Eat! Being healthy is being part of a ninja! What you just said proves that you're nothing more than a little kid!" Kushina yelled with her hair flying around her in 9 separate strands.
"Well you know what?!..." Obito and kushina kept arguing as Minato started handing food out before I quickly slipped away, not in the mood to eat and not feeling like sticking around for the argument.

Kakashi pov

"Here they go again" rin say with a sigh as I watch the scene unfold.
"Let's just eat okay you three? Wait where'd mikasa go...?" Minato asked before I got up and said I'd find her to which Minato agreed with a smile and telling me to get her back here before kushina realised. I started wandering the forest looking for mikasa then I remembered where we used to go as kids and tried there and to my surprise she was actually there. She say on the river bank staring blankly out at the water. I walked over to her and sat beside her not saying anything and to my surprise she spoke first. "If you're hear to tell me I'm weak... Just leave" I was stunned by her words for a second but I understood why she said it... For the last two years if I spoke to her it was most likely to insult her.

"You're... Not weak" I said slowly not knowing if she cares about my opinion anymore. She took her eyes off the water and looked at me. "What?"she asked slowly and I took a deep breath before saying "you mikasa Fernandez... Aren't weak... In actual fact you're really strong... Way stronger than I am but I couldn't find the words to talk to you after we started drifting apart but it was easy to belittle you... And that way I didn't feel like you'd want me around either" I explained as I looked to the side not finding the courage to meet her eye line.
"we mikasa Fernandez aren't friends... When you said that it hit me hard" she muttered and I could feel the sadness in her voice and it plunged me into a pool of sadness and regret.
"I was pushing you away I didn't want you to get to close to me cause I don't want to see you die" I muttered as an image of my father's lifeless body flashed through my mind.
"Idiot" she muttered with no context at all, I reached out and grabbed her hand like I did when we were kids.
She looked at me with a tear in her eyes before saying in a broken voice "your hands sweaty" I smiled at her slightly and said back "no one's forcing you to hold my hand" I then pulled her into a hug slamming her face against my chest as my hand rested on her back.
