Pidge's POV
"You okay Pidge?" I jumped, startled. "Huh? Oh. Hey Lance. Y-Yeah, I'm fine." I lied, turning back towards the window. My friend came closer, standing by my side. "Look, I'm not great at reading emotions, but it's obvious that you're not fine. Do... do you wanna talk about it?" He asked, his usual confident, flirtatious tone gone. "I guess... it's not really that big of a deal, I mean, I'm just overthinking what might've happened if Keith hadn't gone out by himself, or if Storm hadn't stumbled across him, or he had-" I choked on my words, unable to speak. My eyes were hot, threatening to spill tears. "I know what you mean. But you can't let yourself think like that. He's fine, right?" Lance set a hand on my shoulder. "Y-Yeah, but-" "Exactly. Nothing happened to him. He's okay. Nobody got hurt... well they did but they're fine now. The Garrison's taking care of them." He said. "How long do you think it'll take before they wake up?" I murmured. "I don't know. But as soon as they do, we've got a brand new house to tour. And as far as I'm concerned, we can go get whatever pet we want and Shiro won't be able to do anything about it." My friend winked mischievously at me. I smiled, feeling a bit better. "You think he'll try to kick us out if we came back with a boa constrictor?" I asked. "Don't know. How about we go find out once Keith and Storm are awake?"
Two Weeks Later
"So... you're Pidge, correct? Paladin of the green lion?" Storm asked. I nodded. Allura decided that the girls would drive over together so we could bond a little bit. "I am." "Well, it's nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you and your family. I admire your courage." The Meif'Wa's ear flicked. "T-Thank you. I was just doing what anyone would do for their family. I got them back, and that's what matters, right?" I smiled. Storm's face fell before anger took over. "Right." She snarled, ears flattening against her head. I blinked, taken aback. "Storm, is everything alright?" Allura asked. "Yeah. I'm fine. Just... give me a minute." She drew in a shuddering breath.
Keith's POV
"So... anything interesting happen while you were with Storm?" Lance gave me a mischievous glance from across the car. "We're doing this, huh? Okay then, what about Pidge?" I growled. He gave me that 'I-told-you-not-to-talk-about-this' look before lunging for me. I slapped his hand, trying to shove him away. "Guys! GUYS! STOP FIGHTING OVER ME!" Hunk shouted from the middle seat. "No! He started it, so I won't stop until he stops!" I shouted, continuing to attack Lance. "You can't keep secrets, Mullet, so until YOU apologize I won't!" He snapped. Suddenly, the car jerked forwards coming to a sudden stop. My seatbelt locked, choking me. We both fell forwards, slamming into the drivers' and passengers' seat. "Both of you, STOP. You're acting like five year olds!!!" Shiro roared, gripping the steering wheel tightly. Poor Coran looked so uncomfortable. "Seriously, do I have to put you in time out?!" He continued. "You know what, if you two don't apologize to each other and Hunk, I WILL put you in time out." Shiro decided. Lance and I looked at each other. "Sorry for tackling you. And sorry for bothering you Hunk." We both said at the same time. "Now, can we please go to the house? The girls are probably already there wondering if we got lost." Shiro grumbled, continuing to drive.
