As we pulled up, I stared in shock of the beautiful house. It was stunning. Slowly, I stepped out, looking up. "This please is AWESOME!" Lance ran towards it, peering inside the windows. I hung back as everyone looked at the outside. "You gonna go check it out?" A voice said from behind me. I jumped. "Storm! Geez, don't walk up on me like that." I grumbled. "Seriously, though. What's wrong?" She asked. I looked at the ground, sighing. "I... I'm not sure. I just feel like... I'm missing something." I admitted. "I know what you mean. Ever sinc-" She cut herself off, ears flattening against her head. "You okay?" I frowned. "Huh? Y-Yeah. I'm... I'm fine." Storm shook her head. "Guys! Come on! We're about to go inside!" Pidge called. Shrugging, I walked up to the porch. Shiro unlocked the house, letting us in.
Everything was incredible. All our suggestions had been put into the house. Slides, kitchens, assorted flooring and all. Everyone ran off in a different direction like scattering birds. "I'm afraid I might get lost." I muttered, not talking to anyone in particular. By the time everyone had finished touring the house, it was dark out, and we were running on low energy. "Hey uh... do we have specific rooms, or are we just going to pick them out?" I asked. "As far as I know we each have a designated room fit to our personalities, but they're blank slates so we can decorate them however we like." Shiro replied. "Good. I need sleep." I went to stand up. "There's no beds." I sat back down. "Then what're we gonna sleep on?" Lance whined. "Well we do have like 20 something if not more lounges and living rooms." Hunk reminded him. "Oh yeah." "We should all pick a place and claim it as theirs for the night so we get as much sleep as possible." Coran said. "That's my cue. Thank you everyone for your hospitality." Without another word, the Meif'Wa turned to leave. Something inside me began to break. "Storm wait!" I called. She paused. "You can't leave, you don't even have a place to stay! Besides, this house is plenty big enough for guests!"
Did I seriously just ask her to stay?!
"If y'all are okay with me staying, I guess I can..." She said quietly, as if this were reminding her of something. Everyone quickly agreed. "Alright."
Everyone else had gone to sleep. Storm hadn't moved from the foyer since she had said she'd stay, and that was the only reason I was up.
She saved my life... being nice is the least I can do.
"Can... uh... do you... do you need help picking a place to sleep?" I asked. "Yeah." I thought for a while, mentally arguing with myself over every suggestion I was about to make. "Well, since you basically slept in the same room as I did while I was knocked out or whatever, I guess you can stay in the basement living room, where I'm staying. For tonight."
Oh my god. Did I actually just say that?! WHAT is WRONG with me?! OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD
"For tonight." She nodded just enough for me to see. I stiffly walked alongside her as we headed for the basement.
The living room had a medieval-type look to it, with stone walls and pale wood plank flooring. There were red sofas and plush gray beanbags. I quietly got settled in on one of the couches, drowsily watching as Storm curled up in a beanbag. Soon, I fell asleep, exhausted from the past few weeks.
