Pidge's POV
"Pidge? You awake?" A soft voice spoke from the doorway. I grunted in response. "You need to come eat. You've not moved for two days now." Shiro walked in, looking at me sadly. I probably looked like a wreck. I was buried in a giant pile of blankets, like I usually was, except this time it was because I was trying to avoid life. Starving myself to death seemed like a good idea. "I'm fine." I mumbled. "No, you're not." He replied. "How would you know? You're not me." I growled. "Because I've gone through the same thing you have," Shiro sighed. "We've both lost someone we love." I thought for a moment before responding. "I'm not strong like you." I croaked. "Pidge, what're you talking about?! You're one of the strongest people I know! You fought with your life to find your family, and even though they were safe, and you could go home, you still fought, to save people you've never met before! You've saved countless lives, Pidge. You're not just strong, you're brave. You're a hero." With a final glance, Shiro left the room, leaving me alone. "Yet I wasn't there when my family needed me most." I whispered, tears blurring my vision.
"Can you please just eat something?" Hunk sat at the end of my bed. I gave him an irritated look. I was too weak from not eating to even talk. "Please! It's straight up peanut butter cookies dipped in peanut butter! You love peanut butter!" He cried, clearly distressed. I closed my eyes, feeling weaker by the second. "Pidge? PIDGE!" I felt horrid. As if something was tearing me apart from the inside out. "S-!" Words were fading in and out. "Hel-!" "Med- y!"
Maybe now I can finally die.
