Ethan
I freaking knew the guy was hiding some crap.
I blinked. "Oh. Congrats...I guess." I said, attempting to put my earbuds back in and escape from the awkwardness of reality.
Evelyn grabbed my hand. I looked at her, confused.
"I just felt the need to tell you since...I know Ash trusts you and blah blah blah." She said, drifting off.
I sighed. "Ev, can we just not talk about this? I'm kinda busy." I said, pointing to my phone. Lies.
""You've just been really distant...are you okay?" She asked. Wow. She actually cares.
I nodded and fought back the urge to say, 'I've never been better.'
There was an awkward silence that loomed between us. Barely had I attempted to yet again escape from reality when I felt someone's hand on my shoulder.
I looked up and saw Sapphire standing there, twirling her blonde hair and batting her lashes. Fake lashes, that is.
"Hey, Ethan...you look hot today..." she said, making me want to puke.
I rolled my eyes. "What is it, Saph?"
She smiled, revealing a set of pearly white teeth behind her full, glossy lips. "Well, I'm hosting a party tonight and was hoping you'd like to turn up? I'll make sure you really enjoy..." She said, drawing circles on my shoulder.
I sighed. "I don't know..."
"Please? Ashton and Justin will be there. So will everyone else. You have to come. I'll even make an exception for your friend here." She said, sizing Evelyn up.
I did need to have some fun... "Sure. Why not?" I Said.
Sapphire smiled. "Great. I'll look for you." And with that, she walked away.
I looked over at Evelyn. "Care to join?" I asked.
She grinned. "Sounds cool."
Her hand was still linked around my wrist.
