A sudden wave of confidence washed over me, and I leaned towards Evelyn, her breath hot on my lips.
"Okay, so, you wanted fun, right?" I said, rubbing circles on her palm.
"Y-Yeah..."
I cupped my hand on her cheek and pulled her closer. Barely had my eyes shut when...
"Excuse me, sir. PDA is not allowed inside the building. Anywhere else, fine. In here, no." Said a rude-looking waitress.
Evelyn and I pulled away from each other at lightning speed. Her cheeks were flushed.
"Noted. Sorry." I Said.
She left, mumbling inaudibly. I turned back to Evelyn. "Well, we still up for the dance?"
She smiled. "Of course, Ethan. I can't wait to finally see you in a suit."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever..."
Suddenly, the door flung open and a familiar figure walked in.
Oh, crap.
There, in all her glory, stood Sapphire Williams. Her two minions following closely behind. Her pink nails were screaming for attention and her blonde hair was tied up in a simple ponytail.
Being the lucky person I am (note the sarcasm), Sapphire instantly noticed us and sashayed up to our booth; an evil grin on her visage.
"Hey, Ethan. Didn't figure you'd be here." She said.
She's gonna do it...
"Don't, Saph. It's not worth it." I Said, my hands clamming up.
Evelyn glanced nervously at me, but kept a straight face.
"We had a deal, Ethan. The jig's up. It's time for your girlfriend to know who you really are; a fake."
I felt my heart stop at that moment as I looked over at Evelyn.
