Ethan

I felt my head spinning out of control.

That's not how it even went..is it?

Evelyn's voice rang in my head like an incessant hurricane of echos. The words I said were said out of drunkenness and stupidity...they were meaningless.

Sapphire had blackmailed me that day. She said if she saw me hanging out with Evelyn, she'd tell her the words I said on that night...that dreadful night...

I didn't expect her to come strolling into McDonald's in the middle of the night, so I thought I'd be safe... crap.

I sighed, not answering Evelyn's pending question.

I didn't move an inch, but I heard it.

The sound I feared I'd hear one day...

The sound of the love of my life walking away; out of my life, because of my own stupid mistake.

***

It rained pretty hard the next morning.

It was Thursday, the day before the Winter Formal, and I had totally eff'd up my chances of going.

I sighed, staring up at my ceiling. Everything had gone so wrong so fast, and I felt like a huge pile of nothing now.

Should I say I'm sick?

The idea crossed my mind rather frequently, but I brushed it aside.

I had to make things right with Evelyn, even if it was the last thing I did.

Or else I'd be singing Thank U, Next for the rest of my miserable life.
