"Cadet (y/l/n),we need you at the base." You heard your commander say through the com. As you rush through the people to the base, you hope it's your papers from your application into acting school. Two months ago you found that the Air Force would pay for your entire college tuition. Taking them up on their offer you applied.
As you made your way there your head started to wonder. What if I didn't get in? You thought. Anyone would be lucky to have me. Getting your confidence back you walked into the bases main building.
"He is in the office." The secretary said from behind the desk.
You opened the big wooden door that led into your commanders office. "Cadet (y/l/n), I have some news." He looked grim. "First the bad news. You are being sent home." You studies his face for hits to see if he was lying. "Now the good news. Your application papers came back." He paused "You got in! Congratulations (y/l/n), do us proud." He shook your hand and told you to grab your things the plane was leaving in three hours.
As you left his office everything started to sink in. You got in. You could barley contain your self back to the bunker. Where your best mate was waiting for you. As you walked through the doors you were bombarded with questions. "What did the commander want?" "Are you being sent back?" "Did you get into the school you wanted?"
"Woah, Breath Lily." You said as you sat on your bed. "I can answer two of those questions. Which then answers the third one." You look at lily. "Now don't be mad. I got into the school I wanted, and I am being sent back home because of it." You looked at Lily. Her eyes had so much joy in them you almost fell back. "OMG THIS IS AMAZING!" She screamed. "When do you leave?" "Three hours from now." You said giving her the biggest hug ever. "Then let's get packing." You and Lily packed up everything to had into one bag, and made your way to the bases airport. As you were about to board your plane your commander called your name "(y/l/n)" he saluted you and you him. When the formalities were over you have your friend one more hug and left the base. Little did you know this was just the beginning of your amazing new life. Filled with love,pain,anger, and sadness. But it would all be worth it in the end.
