Part 39 / Day 108

You were released from the hospital a couple of days later. The doctor prescribed bed rest and lots of love. Also to take care of the babies. It had been a couple of weeks since you had been released. You spent most of your days at home searching the web, buying random things off of Amazon and, slowly setting up the babies rooms.
     You could tell that Sarah felt very bad for you. She wanted to take you to the set but it hurt for you to move a whole lot. So Sarah decided she would bring you home any food you wanted for dinner almost every night since she went back to work. You had visitors every now and again. They came from the set while they weren't shooting their scenes. The first two to show up were Kathy and Lily.
     They brought you lunch and they helped search for baby stuff online. You thought it was fun. You of course had to talk to Sarah about the big stuff such as cribs and wall color but, you thought it was fun all the same. Lily and Kathy tended to be the people who would come to your house like four times a week.
      One day you were home alone. You were now nine months pregnant at this point and, due at any day. The first room was done in a mint green color and the other was a deep red. Each room was decorated in white furniture. The crib in the green room was white with gray accents. The one in the red room was completely white. Each room had white changing tables and white dressers. They were carpeted and had two big windows each to let some light in. The room with the green walls had a fake crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The room with the red walls had the same one hanging from the ceiling.
      You were so excited. You just wanted to hold your babies. Little Scarlet and Sofia. Your last appointment with the doctor was today. So as soon as sarah got home you and her were out the door and to the hospital for your final check up. About four in the afternoon Sarah arrived home. "You ready?" She asked as you grabbed your purse. "Yeah. I just want our babies to be healthy." You smiled to Sarah wrapping your arms around her neck. "So do I." She said leaning down to kiss you. "Holy shit." Sarah said as she looked down at your stomach. "One of those buggers kicks hard as hell." You laughed. "She's a fighter." You said as you grabbed the keys out of Sarah's hand and went to start the car. Sarah laughed as she followed you out the door closing it behind her.
     You hopped into the passenger seat and put the keys into the ignition. Then you rolled down the windows. "Sarah lets go! I'm not getting any younger in here." You yelled as Sarah locked the front door. "I'm coming. Calm your tits." You laughed and fell back into your seat turning on the seat warmers as you did so. A couple of minutes later Sarah opened the drivers side door. "You ready?" She asked as she shut the door and backed out of the driveway. "Yeah. I just want to see my babies!" You said excitedly. Sarah laughed and turned on the radio playing it as loud as she could so it didn't hurt the babies.
       When you arrived at the hospital you and Sarah went in through the backdoor because well paparazzi was still hanging around the hospital some days. You went up to the maternity floor and Sarah signed you in and you went to go sit down on the couch. You chose the couch closest to the door because standing up and walking was hard these days.
      When Sarah finished signing you in She came to sit down next to you. "You okay?" She questioned wrapping her arm around your shoulders. "Yeah. I'm kind of cold right now though." You laughed. "Well hospitals are always cold. I don't know what to tell you." Sarah said kissing your cheek. "Hmm. How about bring a jacket next time." You said sarcastically turning to kiss Sarah's lips. "I love you." Sarah said pulling away from the kiss. "I love you too." You said laying your head on Sarah's shoulder. "Close your eyes. I will wake you up when they call us. It might be a while. There is a lot of people here." Sarah said playing with your hair as you laid down with your head on her lap.
      You closed your eyes and tried to get comfortable but, you couldn't. Scarlett, who was the kicker, wouldn't stop kicking you. It was making you uncomfortable and worried. After 45 minutes of trying to sleep you sat up and took a deep breathe. "What's wrong?" Sarah asked. "I think something is wrong. Scarlett it kicking way more than usual." You said as you felt you stomach flip. You ran to the bathroom as quick as you could and threw up into the toilet they had in there. "Baby? Okay just let it all out. The doctor will figure out what is wrong." Sarah said holding your hair out of your face.
     A couple of minutes later you stopped puking up your guts and your name was called. "Here." Sarah said handing you one of the mints out of her purse. "Thanks baby." You said walking down the hall with the nurse who was taking you to your doctors office. As soon as you got in there you were on the table ready to see your babies.  The doctor walked in a couple of minutes later.
     "How are we doing today?" The doctor asked you. "Um..We are good other than mild vomiting and Scarlett won't stop kicking." You laughed. "Well that isn't bad." The doctor said as you lifted up your shirt so the doctor could put the gel on your stomach. He put the camera on your stomach and you immediately heard a heartbeat. "I found Scarlett." The doctor laughed. "God is she active to-." The doctor cut off his words. "What is it? What's wrong?" You asked the doctor as you leaned over to see the screen. "Where is the other heart beat?" Sarah asked. The doctor stood up and put the camera away. "I will be right back." He said leaving the room.
      "Sarah? What is going on?" You asked as a tear rolled down your cheek. "I don't know." She said as the doctor walked back in with another doctor. "What's going on?" You demanded. The doctor put the camera on your stomach and sighed. "Miss (Y/L/N), we have you get you into a C-section right away. I am afraid there were some complications." He said looking at you and Sarah. "Complications? What complications?" Sarah asked. You could hear the fear in her voice. "I am afriad that one of your daughters did not make it. I truly am sorry. I will give you a few minutes then we really do need to get you into surgery. If we don't I am afraid it will happen to Scarlett." The doctor said as they both left the room.
      The two of you just sat there in silence. You were afraid of what you were going to say to Sarah. You were upset, scared, and tired. "Why?" Sarah whispered. "What?" You answered. "Why? Why is it always us?" Sarah said standing. "I don't know. We still have Scarlett. You have to think of the upside or you will never make it." You said to her. "I know! I know. I am just so tired (Y/N)." She said walking over and hugging you. "I know so am I but now we have to have a baby or she could get hurt and I don't want anymore pain." I said as the door opened again. It was a nurse holding a hospital gown. "Please put this one and the doctor will be back in a few minutes." She said setting the gown on the bed and shutting the door. "We just have to make it through this. Then we can be happy Sarah." You said standing up and changing into the gown. "I know. I'm trying." Sarah said walking over and kissing your back. "I will be okay. Don't worry." You said as the door opened again. "The gurney is outside the door. Miss.Paulson you can come if you want." The doctor said as you walked to the gurney. "Your coming." You said to Sarah as you laid on the bed.
     As you laid on the bed the rolled you into the operating room and made you numb from the shoulders down. You looked at Sarah. She had tears rolling down her face. 'I love you.' She mouthed. ' I love you too.' You mouthed back. "Are you ready (Y/N)?" The doctor asked as they did the final touches in getting your ready for surgery. "Yeah." You said looking at Sarah. You were sad but you couldn't help feeling happy. You were going to get to meet your daughter. One of them anyways. You were sad you never go to meet Sofia but, you knew that wherever she was that she loved you and Sarah both very much.
      "We are ready to begin." The doctor said. The nurse handed him the scalpel. All you felt was not pain but it was more of uncomfortable. Like you were sitting oddly on the couch but, you were unable to move. It was a very weird feeling. "Oh. Sofia." Sarah said as the doctor handed the baby to the nurse. She immediately turned around and a group of nurses went to work in cleaning her. You watched as the nurses gently wiped the blood and goo from its lifeless body. You felt a tear roll down your cheek. "It's okay." Sarah said wiping the tear away. You looked again and this time the nurse was swaddling the baby in a soft pink blanket. "Here you go." The nurse said as she handed Sofia to Sarah. You watched as Sarah light up when she held Sofia. You could tell how much she loved her. "(Y/N)? Are you ready to meet baby Scarlett?" The doctor asked. "Yeah!" You said tears still rolling down your cheeks. A couple of moments later the doctor pulled Scarlett from your body. "Scarlett." You whispered. The doctor handed the baby to the nurse who got her all cleaned up. Scarlett wasn't having it though. She was screaming bloody murder since leaving the womb. When the nurse was finished she went to hand you Scarlett. "Here let me." Sarah said. She handed you baby Sofia and picked up baby Scarlett. You took one look at Sofia and immediately knew that these babies were going to change your life. You looked at Sarah. Then looked down at baby Sofia one last time before kissing her forehead. You put your hand on her chest. "Oh my god!" You said almost dropping Sofia. "What is it?!" Sarah asked scared. "She's breathing." I said. The nurse immediately grabbed her from my hands and they went to work.
     As the doctors patched you up Sarah handed you baby Scarlett and she went over to see what was happening with baby Sofia. You looked at Scarlett and your eyes met. She stopped crying in that moment and it was like the world just stopped. You knew then that these girls were going to be something very special.
