November 6th, 2018.
You had been home form the Air Force for about a week now, and things were running smoothly. You first day at school starts in a month and the election was today. As a member of the military you told your self that your vote mattered, because you know they all do. So as you got up out of bed and moved zombie like into the bath room and undressed and hopped into the shower. The freezing water woke you up immediately. You forgot that the water takes a few minutes to heat up. As you washed your hair, body, and face you had a sort of feeling that something was gonna happen today.
You got out of the shower and made your way to the closet. You picked out a tight black long sleeve top with writing the said WOMEN RULE across the chest. You also pulled out a pair of fake leather leggings and some black chunky heels.
You made your way to the kitchen where you grabbed an apple, a protein shake, and a water. Then made your way out the door. Locking it. Then down the hallway into the elevator and to your car.
Once into your car you set everything down realized you forgot your phone and keys made your way back upstairs and grabbed everything you forgot.
Being home after so long had been very hard because you get into a completely different routine. You have to get up at the crack on dawn in the Air Force, and you train all day then proceed to clean until dinner. Then its bedroom checks and bedtime. You are put into a strict schedule. Where as when your home alone you do what ever you want to whatever is needed. So being home was an adjustment. You had to clean up all the dust wash literally everything and scrub all the floors. After that you had to run out get food and drinks. Especially the tequila, and put all that away. It had been very hard coming home as well and seeing all the things you left behind. Pictures of your family and friends. Things those people gave you. Seeing how much you have missed through social media and mail. It was shocking. But you pulled yourself together and figured everything out. You always do.
As you started your car and pulled onto the main road your phone buzzed with a reminder. Go vote dippy! It said. You laughed at your self and looked up the nearest voting booth. It was just a few miles north of and and you could make it in 30 minutes tops.
You pulled into the parking lot and got out grabbing your phone and keys in the process. You walked up to the line of people not seeming where you were going. You tripped on some rocks and fell face first into the person in front of you.
"Oh my god. I am so sorry." You said flustered. The person turned around. "It's okay. Are you okay though?" She asked "Yes I am fine. I so sorry again." You said. "It's really no big deal." She laughed " I'm Sarah and this is my friend Kathy." You shook both of their hands. "Nice meeting you. Even if it was an accident." You and Sarah both laughed.
As you all stood in line you got to talking. "May I ask your profession?" Kathy asked me "I just got back from over seas with the U.S. Air Force." The look on Sarah's face was literally priceless. "You mean to tell me that the person you fell walking was in the Air Force?" You laughed "Yep she was. May I ask what you to do for a living?" Kathy and Sarah looked at each other. "You really don't know who we are?" They asked. "No idea remember I was out of the country for 3 years." They laughed "Okay so I am Sarah Paulson and this is Kathy Bates and we are actors." You looked confused. "Wait really? That's awesome. That is actually what I am going back to school for now." You said. Laughing.
As you all started to talk some more you didn't even realize that it was already their turn. "Hey." Sarah called. "Give me your number." She handed you her phone. As you wrote your number Kathy handed her phone to you as well. When you had everyone's number you all parted ways and you went into the voting booth where you took a deep breath letting what just happened sink in.
