I head down the stairs, grabbing my coat and car keys, before leaving out the house to go get these herbs.

I've watched mother slowly waste away over the passing months. These herbs can help mother, allowing her wolf to feed for her, stopping her from slowly wasting away. Maybe this will give her enough time to deal with this inner trauma she has suffered from losing my father.

"Do you need for me to gather some of the pack warriors to come." Uncle Jax asks, coming out the front door.

"No, I'm going alone." Me bringing the pack warriors along will only make it appear as if we have come to fight, causing them to see us as a threat. My mother needs these herbs, so I'm going alone to appear less threatening.

I get into the car and leave the pack land, heading far west, towards the mountains lands.

It's a long ride there, but the sooner I can get there and get those herbs from one of these Mountain packs, the sooner I can get back and mother can start to get better if it works.

I drive for hours, only stopping to refill on gas when needed.

The sun starts to go down once I finally locate the first pack out west.

Approaching their land, I stop into the middle of the road outside of their pack borders, getting out the car. I stand here next to my car, waiting for their border patrol to come for me. I'm sure they have picked up on my scent by now, realizing I'm here.

I slide my hands into the pockets of my coat, looking over into the tall thick trees covered in snow, that are lining both sides of the road as I wait.

I look over at the sun, that's quickly setting behind the trees, causing the sky to grow darker and darker by the second.

I let out a breath, causing a small cloud to form in front of my face. The wind blows into me, causing me to slightly shiver. I thought our winters were pretty cold, but It's much colder here in the mountains.

I look over into the thick trees of the forest as I start to hear the sound of paws beating against the ground, quickly growing closer.

Seconds later seven large wolves break through the tree line, snarling and growling, letting me know that I'm unwanted here.

I don't move from my spot, showing them I'm not here to fight.

"I want to speak with your alpha." I stand here watching them as they growl at me. I Don't remove my hands from my coat pockets, making myself appear less threatening. I need these herbs and I promised Lisa that I wouldn't kill anyone for them.

Assuming that they linked their alpha, telling him I'm asking for him, I stand here waiting in front of my car.

A couple of minutes pass before two large brown wolves come walking through the trees. They both carry the scent of alpha males.

The slightly larger Alpha male shifts. Almost every inch of him is covered in tattoos.

I've seen many of those symbols that are covering his body in books and old strolls that I've read. They all hold a different meaning.

These tattoos show that they still live by the old ways of the ancestors. I'm sure all these guys are covered in these markings.

Some of our pack warriors have these markings, but not as many as this male. Our pack warriors just get them mainly for body art but for them it's different. They don't just get these tattoo just because they want them, they have to earn the right to carry these markings on their flesh.
