My Lucid Dreaming Experiences

I started going back through this guide, and realized I had a few near-successes that I never talked about.  I feel like talking about my successes- and probably my failures- will keep readers from getting discouraged.  If you don't care about my personal lucid dreaming experiences, skip this chapter.  But if you do, here's what I've got.

I'm gonna jump into this with teleportation.  I mentioned in a different chapter that I got close to teleporting, but never succeeded.  So far, I haven't fully accomplished any of my goals, but I've gotten closer in all aspects than when I started.  My teleportation attempt was a long time ago, but I remember it well enough (plus, it's in my dream journal).  I was outside, at a campground of some sort, and started spinning.  When I wrote my original "What To Do In A Lucid Dream" chapter, I hadn't experienced trying to teleport, I was only relaying information from my source.  However, I have the experience now.  My vision started to fade.  It didn't necessarily turn black, but more of a dark gray color.  I wanted to go to the waterfront park near where I live, knowing that it would be more private and I could practice other things, so I envisioned that.  I don't know how many times I spun a full circle, but it was at least 3 before the image started to appear.  At first, I was honestly unaware of it, as if nothing had changed.  It felt as if it had been there the whole time.  Then, I became aware of what I was doing again, and realized it was working.  I kept spinning, and the image grew and started to surround me.  I thought I was done and stopped, then got dizzy and fell over, resulting in my waking up.  However, had I continued for a while longer (which I know now to do), I could've teleported myself there.  I'm more focused on manifestation at the moment, so I haven't been working on this any further, but it's still there whenever I return to it.

Well, since I just mentioned manifestation, let's talk about that.  I've had two almost-successes with manifestation, which is irritating and encouraging at the same time.  They both happened the exact same way.  I wanted to start with something small, so I'm trying to manifest a fireball in my hand.  Both times I've made this attempt, I've seen sparks fly from my hand, but the fireball doesn't appear.  Since I don't lucid dream frequently, I haven't had the chance to take another swing with this, but there definitely seems to be something there that's on the verge of breaking through.

Third thing: flight.  Out of the four goals I listed way back at the start of this guide, this is the one I'm furthest from achieving, mainly since I haven't been focusing on it.  I've flown in dreams before, but I'm always flying once I start them, so I never learned how to take off on my own.  I remember a few dreams, early in my lucid dreaming career, where I would jump into the air and stay there a bit longer than I would've had it been a normal jump.  I'm fully under the belief that, somehow, I was hovering there for a moment, but I doubted myself during the jump which cancelled out my flight.

Last but not least, we have dream commands.  I have used dream commands successfully before, but they didn't do much, so I'm not counting it as a complete success.  I can recall once in a lucid dream where I felt myself losing lucidity, so I started rubbing my hands together.  When that failed, I shouted at the dream for more lucidity.  I felt it work briefly, then got overexcited and woke myself up, so my dream command ultimately backfired.

I hope that reading about my attempts and my mistakes will help you all with your lucid dreaming, and that it will encourage you to keep trying.
