For the next week until Friday, my days go by painfully slow. Both of my friends who know about my now not so secret love affair has mixed feelings about it.

Austin has only called me once after he landed in Tokyo. Since then he has disappeared from existence. I've thrown myself completely in my job. Just to forget about the creeping eery feeling that things aren't OK. I've been telling myself that he's just really busy.

Since Wednesday James had become a little sympathetic towards the situation.

I was busy leaving Austin another pathetic voicemail when he entered my bedroom.

"I don't think I miss understood him, did I?" I had asked feeling pathetic.

"He said he didn't want us to be just a fling. He said that. I heard him loud and clear..."

James gave me a soft look. "Maybe he lost his phone or something." He had tried.

Now we're at the end of the week and I'm hoping James was right.

I'm in my cubicle when there's suddenly a flurry of commotion. The phones start ringing and Debbie comes running out of her office.

Danny and I have been moved back to Debbie's service when Austin had left. His secretary didn't need any assistance from us while the office wasn't in use.

"Mr. Ames is on his way to the office," Debbie said in a rush. Making my heart stop and then flutter. Heat goes through my body and I have to fight the smile that wants to make it's way to my face.

"Natalie and Danny, go up there and see if the secretary needs assistance with something." She said hurriedly.

We're on our way to the top floor when Danny speaks. "Excited that the boss is back?" She asked me with a sideways glance.

"Yeah. He's nice to work with." I said trying to sound cool about it.

"OK." She said with a raised brow.

Before I could ask anything else the elevator door opens and we're met with the sight of a distressed secretary.

"Oh thank you for coming!" She said before starting to give us orders. Danny and I help the best we can when the secretary's phone suddenly rings again.

"He's in the elevator heading here." She said trying to poise herself. "Go make some tea for Mr. Ames Danny. Don't throw in any sugar or milk. He does it himself." She said, making me frown.

Austin doesn't drink tea."Mr. Ames doesn't drink tea. He normally just-drinks an espresso." I voiced my thought to the secretary.

"Oh, it's not Mr. Ames Junior. It's his Father." She said just as the elevator door opens.

I'm rooted to the spot trying to still the disappointment and shock.

Two men walk onto the floor and heads to the secretary. One of them being the older Mr. Ames. And the other a younger attractive guy that I think I remember from somewhere.

Neither of them notices me standing there because they seem to be having an in-depth conversation.

Mr. Ames luckily turns his back to me when he finally looks at the secretary.

"Mr. Hunter here needs some documents put in order for him. Can you go help him in the conference room." He asks her with a charming smile. And not at all like the guy I met last Saturday.

The secretary nods and comes from behind her desk and Mr. Hunter follows her. But not before giving me a bright smile.

And then I was all alone with Mr. Ames Senior.
