"What the he'll do you think this is? The nineteen fifties? I'm not going to marry you because you're bulling me into it." I said as my anger started to boil again. The fear of a few seconds now gone. "You told me to abort this baby. I have the message to prove it." I said as confidence slowly seeps in again. "See how far you can go with that you Asshole!"
"What nonsense are you talking about? I never send you any message about getting an abortion. I didn't even know you were pregnant!" He yelled back.A sardonic laugh escapes me at his words. "I have the damn message that prove I told you about the pregnancy too. You can try and get custody all you want. But you'll never win." I said looking him dead in the eyes.
His hard eyes stares at me again. "You're making this all up right. Because there's no way that I could not know that you send me message saying that you are pregnant. Only to have one from me that says you should get an abortion. Unless I had amnesia somehow, I don't see how that's possible. So try again. Try some other scheme to get me to change my mind."
"Oh. You probably also won't remember that you broke up with me in an email, would you." I said mockingly.
"Clearly I had some sort of memory loss. Because I don't remember doing that either. You were the one that send me an email ending things because it was becoming to complicated to be with me."
"Yes. Clearly someone hit you over the head with something and made you forget." I said before walking to the door. "I would like you to leave now. You can forget the past few days too, if you'd like. I don't know what is going on with you, but I don't care. You made your decisions a year and a half ago. Be a man and stick with it."
"I'm not going anywhere." Austin said rooted to his spot.
I let out a loud frustrated sigh at him. "What is this about? Do you thing I want your money. Or are you thinking about your reputation. Because I can assure you; I don't want or need anything from you. And I won't tell anyone important that you have an eligitimate child. So you can be on your way now."
"Are you done spewing out nonsense?" His harsh words and change of tone suddenly stops any other words from coming out.
"Do not talk to her like that you asshole." Jennifer suddenly speaks from the bedroom door.
"Jennifer don't -" I tried to say before she stops me.
"I have to tell you guys that the walls in this apartment are not sound proof. So since I've heard everything that's had been said so far, here's my take on things." Austin opens his mouth to say something but Jennifer holds up her hand to shut him up. "I have this bad feeling that someone might have meddled in your… whatever you had." Jennifer mussed.
"What are you talking about?" Austin asked while I just gave her a questioning look.
"For two smart people, you two are completely slow right now." She said before taking a deep breath and looked at me. "He said that he didn't tell you to get and abortion and neither did he know about the pregnancy. He also said that you broke up with him in an email. And I don't like this guy." She pointed at Austin. "But I think I believe him. Somehow someone decided two make you brake up with eachother. And they succeeded."
That makes Austin go quiet. But I don't believe that someone like Austin Ames would let something like that happen. And I voice my thoughts to Jennifer.
"I lost my phone at the airport the day I went to Tokyo." Austin said quietly.
"You did?" Jennifer asked getting excited with the mystery that's unfolding before her eyes.
"Oh. How bloody convenient!" I yeld throwing my hands in the air.
Jennifer has a smug smile on her face, like she just solved the mystery. And Austin looks deep in thought. But just not deep in thought. Something is brewing in his mind. Because he suddenly starts walking to the door and without a word opens it and then leaves.
After we both stare at the door for a moment I look at Jennifer. "What was that? Did you just open a can of worms that no one wants to freaken come near!" I yelled ar her, before heading to my bedroom. If Jennifer is right, than my life. And my son's life is about to drastically change. I don't know if it will be a good or bad thing. But I do know that I'm not going to let my son get hurt by this or by the Ames family.
