After my two friends interrogated me, we all went our separate ways to go get ready for work.

After getting ready  I check my phone and find a message from an unknown number.

You up for Lunch today. -A.A

I'm not even surprised to know that he has my phone number.

I can't. Have a lunch date with Jennifer and James. Maybe Dinner?

I message back and receive a bunch of sad and frowning emoji's. Making me let out a laugh.

After work, my phone alerts me of another message. I still haven't saved the number on my phone but I recognize it by now.

Will be running late. Pick you up at your apartment around eight?

The message reads, making me frown. I don't want my two extremely overprotective, busy friends to know anything about this. So I'm scared they will see him. Knowing Jennifer, she already knows what my boss looks like.

When I get to the apartment, there's no one there. Just a note that said they went out to meet up with the rest of the gang.

I hurriedly make myself ready. So I just throw on a pair of black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt and a black biker jacket that I love so much. A pair of booties on my feet rounds of the whole outfit. After checking the mirror I decide just to touch up my make up, then brush out the knots in my dark brown hair.

My phone vibrates in my pocket and the message lets me know that Austin is parked at the grocery store across my apartment building. That way, the chances that my two friends will spot me getting into that car is lower.

"You brought me to your apartment?" I asked surprised. I thought he was taking me to a restaurant or something.

"Is this going to be a sex thing only?" I asked. I feel uncomfortable because I don't know what I want his answer to be.

"No, of course not. There's going to be food involved too." He said with a grin my way. Just as we exit the elevator and walk into the penthouse of the apartment building for the rich.

Before I could look around he grabs my hips and pulls me towards him. "I like this biker chic look on you." He said.

"You do? I like it too." I said with a smirk.

He then kisses me slowly, before letting me go.

We're in his living room that's furnished for a bachelor. The room is mostly in black and wood. With a touch of blue here and there. The view of the city from a wall that is glass rounds of the look.

"Want a tour?" Austin asked after getting rid of his suit jacket and tie.

"Sure."

When we're done walking through the whole penthouse, he circle's back to the kitchen. "So, I hope you don't expect me to cook because I suck at it," I said when he walks to the fridge and takes out a bottle of white wine. After that, he takes out two glasses from a cabinet and puts it down on the counter where I'm standing.

He lets out a laugh. "I suck at it too, but I think between the two of us we can whip something up." He said smiling at me. "So what do you say to pasta? You can make that right?"

"Ok, challenge accepted," I said.

He fills the glasses with the white wine and then moves one of the glasses over to me.

"How about mac and cheese. That can't be too hard. All it needs is macaroni, cheese, and some filling." He said with a shrug. Making me laugh again.

"Mac and cheese it is then," I say, then take a sip of wine before getting up.

"Let's do this."

************************************

"I thought you sucked at cooking?" Austin asked.

"I do," I reply.

"Then how did you make this white sauce so great."

Before I can answer the elevator dings and opens.

"I really need to change my passcode," Austin said with a sigh.

The person saunters into the place like he owns it and goes to sit across from me at the counter.

"Hello, and who might you be?" The previous boss of Ames Corporation asked.

Before I could answer, Austin speaks up. "What are you doing here father? I thought you were bedridden?" He asked rather rudely. Making me look at the food in front of me uncomfortable. This whole situation has become uncomfortable and I just want to leave.

"I'm here to speak with you. I didn't know you would have a guess." He said with a shrug.

"Well, now you know. What can I do for you, father?" Austin asked.

"We can go to your study."  He said to Austin. "No offense but this is an urgent business matter." He said now looking at me.

"She takes offends father. And show do I." Austin said looking his father dead in the eyes. "You should have called first."

This isn't the Austin I have come to know in the last few weeks or so. Of course, I don't know him that well, but I didn't think he would be rude to his father like this. Especially since his father isn't being rude with him or me.

"It's fine you guys can go to your study," I said chipping in.

"No thanks, darling. I'll just take my leave. Seeing as I'm not wanted at the moment." Mr. Ames senior said to me.

He then promptly left the kitchen without a second look to his son.

"What was that all about," I asked Austin.

He lets out a sigh then looks at me. "My family isn't the best." He said looking like he wants to say more but then changes his mind. "He should have called."

I just nod my head at that.

"Can we just forget about that and enjoy the rest of our very tasteful Mac and cheese?" He asked pleading.

"Ok," I said.

"So you'll be making Mac and cheese every time we have dinner from no on." He says making me let out a laugh.

Please be advised that this is the first draft of this book. So it's going to be crappy until I edit it. But that's not going to happen until I'm finished with the whole thing. And I'm not saying that it won't be crappy when I'm done editing it... I'm just hoping that it won't be that crappy anymore.
