"So, where are you from?" He asks after we have both ordered our food.

At first, I want to ignore the question. But then I realized that I don't have to answer him.

"I'm sure you know already." He has read my employee file. I'm sure of that.

"Come on, don't be like that. You agreed to the talk." He says.

"Yes, after you forced me to. But the talk is about what's happening between us. This is not a get to know each other date." I say stubbornly.

He scoffs at that. "Ok fine." He says.

Then someone brings a bottle of white wine and proceeds to throw us both a glass.

"So what is it that you think we should do about this problem of ours?" I ask him, straight to the point.

"Who says it's a problem?" He asks evading the question that we both must be thinking about.

"Me and everyone else who has a little common sense," I say, staring him down.

He finally lets out a breath.

"We can find out where this is going. We don't even have to define it." He says uncertainly. He doesn't strike me as a person who is uncertain about things very often.

I let out a laugh at his suggestion.

"No," I say seriously.

"Why not? We've got nothing to lose. And we have an attraction toward each other that I can't ignore. And I know you can't either. Why waste time on making things complicated. And if we're not going to do something about it, I know we'll forever wonder about what could have been." He ends.

For a moment all I can do is stare at him. And try to figure out if he is a crazy psychopath. How can he be uncertain one moment and then just be certain and assured the next?

"What are you thinking." He asks when I don't come up with a response to his words.

"I'm trying to decide if you're a crazy psychopath or not," I reply seriously.

He looks surprised at my response, but before he can react to it the waiter comes with our food.

He lets out a sigh after the waiter has left.

"Fine what would you want us to do?" He asks dejectedly.

I hesitate at the question. I don't want this mess. Not after what happened with the last guy I was involved with. My life always end up upside down, and I'm sure this will spin it uncontrollably.

I let out a frustrated groan. I already know that I too want to see where this is going. I've never experienced this kind off attraction towards the opposite sex before. And I would like to give in and see where it goes.

"You're my boss. And it will be inappropriate." I groan again.

"Yes, we've established that, but who cares, there isn't really a rule at the company that says we can't be together or something like that." He says taking my  hand in his.

I like how our hands fit together.

"No one will know." I say looking down.

"If you want to keep it quiet, then we'll keep it quiet." He responds.

We sit like that for a while. Him looking at me while I'm  lost in thought. Our food forgotten.

"Ohk. Let's see where it goes." I say softly. Letting him know that I  had given in.

I look up and find him smiling at me.

"What?" I ask squirming under his gaze.

"Want to get out of here?" He asks with a grin.

For a moment my mind goes to the gutter. But then he clears it up.

"There's a fireworks display at the port tonight." He says while calling the waiter to our table. Our food is untouched. But he pays the bill when I reply.

"Sure." I say. Relieved. I might have fantasies about it, but I'm not ready to go there with him.
