"Hey Nat, are you waiting for someone?" Danny asks me when she spots me standing at the elevators. It's ten minutes to seven pm.
"No I'm just - nevermind I'm going to go - " I try to say but then I see him getting off his private elevator.
He starts walking in our direction and I panic because I don't want anyone to know about this thing.
"Miss Lavender, can I have a word with miss Callan for a moment." He says, saving me from thinking of an excuse to give her myself.
When Danny is gone he takes my hand and leads me outside. When we get to his car a man opens the door for us and I presume he is the driver.
I couldn't help but feel scared. I am attracted to this really attractive, rich guy and I have no idea who he really is inside. I have been kissed by him a few times and I don't even know how old he is, or what his favorite food is. And yet here I am going somewhere with him.
I'm in a car with a complete stranger and going who knows where. But for some reason, something like anticipation and excitement is blooming inside my stony heart.
"What are you thinking?" He suddenly asks next to me. He is busy typing on his phone. I take that opportunity to study his futures. He has long eyelashes that most women would be jealous of. He has perfect straight nose, high cheeks bones and strong jawline. He could be a freaking model.
He suddenly looks up at me and I feel my cheeks heating up.
"What?" He asks with a smile. A real smile. Unlike the ones, he gives out at work. And my heart starts racing.
He leans over and this time I don't hesitate. Because I want to kiss him. I need to kiss him.
His soft lips feel cool on mine. Making a shiver go through me. He deepens the kiss and my hands go to his hair. His really soft hair. I melt even further into him and the interior of the car disappears. The kiss doesn't feel rushed. Instead, it feels just right. It feels like it could go on forever.
That's until the driver clears his throat.
I'm the first to pull away out of embarrassment. And I feel my cheeks flame up again.
"We're here, Mr. Ames." The driver says.
The driver opens my door and gives me a friendly smile in return to my embarrassed one.
"Come on." I hear Auston say before he gets out of the car.
I realize I don't even know where we are. I was too busy sucking face with the guy who is my boss to notice anything.
The first thing I notice when getting out of the car; is the long line in front of a place that looks like a very expensive restaurant.
"I'm not dressed for this," I say when he holds out his hand for me to take.
"You'll be fine." He says after giving me a once over.
I take his hand without thinking about it and he leads me towards the entrance of the restaurant. He, of course, doesn't go for the long line like everybody else. Instead, he goes to the front and a serious tight up woman's frown suddenly turns into a bright smile.
"Hello, Mr. Ames. The usual seat for you? " The hostess asks with a chirpy voice.
"Yes please." He replies with a smile.
"This way please, Mr. Ames." Then she starts leading us, or him to the table. I think she's ignoring my existence.
She takes us to a more quiet, closed of part of the restaurant. He takes out my chair for me when we're at the table and then goes and sit down himself.
"What is this?" I ask him.
"You agreed to talk. So now we can have dinner and talk." He says with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Ok. I can do that." I say with fake enthusiasm.
"You don't sound too excited." He says with a half-smile. "Would you rather us do more kissing instead?" He asks with a smirk on his face.
"No," I say quickly. "No this is good. What are we going to talk about?" I say before picking up the menu on the table.
He just gives me a skew look before picking up his own menu.
