For the next few days, I try to forget about my boss. I focus on my job and I realize I actually like what I'm doing. It's a great learning experience to see how this company is structured.

Carmen is excellent at her job and she praises her boss every chance she gets. She has been his assistant since he started his own company after university. Not many people know about the tech company that actually made him a millionaire in his own right. He hid his identity well.

I've learned a lot about him in his absence, and the more I learned the more I got confused. The person that Carmen describes is a stranger and not the guy who kissed me just because it was something he needed to do.

"Why do we still watch this stuff." Jennifer brings me out of my thoughts.

It's Thursday night and we're currently watching a romantic comedy in the living room.

"Maybe because it helps us when we feel so lonely, and when I say we, I mean you," I say to her.

"Hahaha. You think you're so very funny, don't you." Jennifer rolls her eyes at me and then puts the movie on pause. "So do you have someone?"

"No," I say confused.

"Then why are you implying it?" she asks with a raised eyebrow.

"When did I imply it?"

" When you implied that I'm lonely. And you're not." She crosses her arms in front of her while looking at me with a smug face.

"So you have someone?" I ask her.

"... I'll have someone if you have someone." Then she quickly plays the movie again. But I've already caught up to what is going on.

"You have someone, don't you!" I say over the people talking on the TV.

"No."

"Do not lie to me woman," I say with a serious tone.

"Ok fine. You've been busy. And there is this guy who has asked me on a few dates." She admits.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask, not understanding why I wasn't kept in the loop.

"You've been busy with your job, Nat. And I didn't feel like telling you about something that might not even work out. " She says in a soft tone.

"Why not? We're friends. You should be able to tell me anything, especially the things that involve a guy. " I say to her.

"Well yeah... Ok." She says with a hesitant smile.

"So is there going to be another date, or are you guys passed that already," I ask excitedly.

But before she can answer there's a sudden knock on our door.

"Are you expecting anyone?" I ask her.

She shakes her head and then gets up to go open the door.

When she opens the door we are greeted with James and his suitcase.

"Can we help you?" Jennifer asks him.

He just gives her a dirty look before walking into the apartment after spotting me on the couch.

"I need a place to stay." He directs his question to me.

Jennifer shuts the door and also moves to the coach. " Uhm, Helloo... Don't you have a place of your own, and why are you asking her only. I live here too, ya know." She states.

"Why do you need a place to stay?" I ask him.

"Mel kicked me out." He says.

" Why?"

" She is a bitch like that. I told you people from the start." Jennifer says.

"She's having second thoughts about us."

He says it like he doesn't care, but I have known him for a long time, longer then the others, and I see straight through his act.

"Fine, you can have the coach," I say without a second thought.

When I look at Jennifer she has a mock disapproving expression on her face.

" What, are you guys not seeing or hearing me?" She says looking between us.

"We see you and we hear you. We just don't care." James says to her.

She goes to sit on the other end of the coach. "Fine. I'm used to you guys ignoring me anyway." She says with a shrug.

James plops down between us. He then puts his arms on both our shoulders before bringing us to him.

"We love you, Jen, even when we ignore you. We love you." James says to her then kisses her on the forehead.

Jennifer squeals when he does it, and wipes her forehead ." Ewww! And fine, you can stay here for a while."
