Ch: 29

The next day, I tried to get close to Kala but she made it quite clear that she didn't want anything to do with making a friend. Maybe her coming up to me yesterday was just to compliment me with my duel and to have a small conversation. Maybe her intent was to just socialize so she doesn't look like she stays to herself and never talks to anyone. Although her attitude seemed at least friendly like she'll welcome a conversation if anyone just so happens to talk to her. Maybe she stayed to talk with me because she started talking with me first and didn't want to seem rude with her first impression. Maybe I'm just judging her like this because every time I see her today, she just keeps on avoiding me. The last time I tried to talk to her, she just ran full sprint down the hallway away from me and I didn't chase her. Mostly because, with that action, she made it quite clear to me that she didn't want to talk to me, that she intended to avoid me. So I'm not trying to chase after her, after all, if she wanted to talk to me, she would come over to me just as she did yesterday.

It's been a weak since then and she didn't even try to approach me and Padme has yet to call me with any news about this girls parents, so I wait, I wait for everything to happen as the force allows it to. If Padme finds this girls parents and if I can get her to talk to me, then maybe the force wants me to introduce her to her parents but I'll haft to wait and see. Wait for everything to happen as it will.

Right now, I was outside in one of the training areas, with my lightsabers out, swinging them all over the place. I twirled around and swept one of them low to the ground, while holding the other close to me in a protective manor. I then started to twirl around in the opposite way and held the sabers out to my sides as I twirled around in a circle. This just feels like some kind of dance to me really, a dangerous dance. It was when a saber flew in front of one of my sabers did I pay attention to everything around me, I should really stop spacing out, especially when I'm using my two icy blue sabers. The lightsaber that blocked mine was a crisp orange, I looked up to who was wielding it and saw that it was Kala.

"Want to duel?" Kala asks me as she withdraws her saber from my own.

"Sure." I told her as I took up a fighting stance in the middle of the training area. Kala comes over to stand about 2 or so feet away from me.

It was Kala who made the first move as she aimed at my side and I blocked her with one of my sabers. I aimed my other saber at her which caused her to move her saber to block it. We went on like this for a couple of minuets, just trading shots with each other until one of use became unarmed or if we just got tired. Which didn't happen until the sun started to set.

"You're good." Kala tells me as she un-ignites her saber and puts it onto her belt. "I'm starting to get tired and it looks like you're about to get tired too." Kala looks towards the setting sun. "Wanna go grab some dinner?"

"Uh...sure." I told Kala, I wondered why she approached me after running away from me a week ago? I walked side by side with Kala as we walked down the halls towards the café.

It has been a week since Kala had decided to come and talk to me, she still seemed kind of distant with me but I'm not complaining as she doesn't run away or tries to avoid me whenever I come near her. Each day, she seems to have warmed up to me more and more. Padme called me last night and told me that she has a lead on Kala's parents. Kala still doesn't know that I'm having Padme look for her parents, I wonder what will happen if I told Kala that I'm having Padme search for her parents. Would she be mad at me? Would she just up and try to avoid me again like she did after we had first met? Would she even want to met her parents?

Right now, I was with Kala, we where silently watching the sun set from one of the outside platforms at the temple. We where sitting on a bench, Kala was sitting on one end while I was sitting on the other. There was enough room in between us for someone to sit in between us and still have enough room to where they wouldn't touch us.

"Hey?" I asked Kala

"Yeah?" Kala asked me.

"I was wondering...." I started. "Why did you come talk to me and ask to do a duel when it was very clear that you where trying to avoid me...?"

"My Master noticed that I was avoiding you and told me that I was being rude." Kala tells me. "Once I realized that I was being quite rude, I approached you to talk but saw that you had your lightsabers out, so I asked you if you wanted to duel."

"Why where you avoiding me?" I asked Kala once she was done with her little explanation as to why she had come up to me after she was avoiding me.

"I...I don't want to be close to anyone as it could result in me doing something that can't be undone." Kala tells me.

"You can be friends with someone without being close with them." I told Kala. "Friends look out for one another, they can always help us to make the right decision."

"...You're right...." Kala tells me as she looked back at the almost fully set sun. "Wanna go grab some dinner?"

"Sure." I told Kala.
