Goodbye Moon, Hello Sun

Her eyes burned. A feeling she knew all too well, yet the added pain in her head was unfamiliar. She knew staying up was a bad idea and possibly not worth the hassle, but she still did it anyway. Wanting to see what the sky was like when the sun said good morning and kissed her side of the world. It fascinated her, how as the moon says goodbye, the sun greets her with its bright smile. Yet, on the other side of the world the moon says hello and the sun says goodbye. And even sometimes, you can see either the sun or moon from both sides at the same time.

Time. What a concept. You can share the same moment of someone but be in completely different times. To a few of her friends, she's from the future, as they are in the past to her. But every funny moment they have together is another memory to be cherished.

She blinked slowly, watching the chat fly by, occasionally looking at her puppy. She felt something. But she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. It was like a mix to the point it made her calm. Not pure happiness, not pure sadness, not pure anything. She felt happy, stressed, sad, tired-ultimately they all balanced out to make her calm.

Light peaked through her blinds, evidence that it was past midday. Soon the sun would say goodbye and she'd be left with just stress as school would be fastly approaching. All the assignments she put off, all the work she'll have to do-that stress will come back and break her again. She just had to hold on a few more weeks though. Soon it'll be over and she'll be fine.

But would she? The holidays were meant to be fun and relaxing but they brought about a depression in her. Knowing how alone she was, even if she had friends. She tended to push people away in this time as well. She didn't want it to get like that. Not again. Not ever. She contemplated telling her friends about it and asking them to just be patient with her and help her through it. But they've already done so much for her, she couldn't possibly ask for more, right?

She yawns. These thoughts have been on her mind lately but there's nothing she could do about them. Thoughts will come and go. They're like new trends but for the mind. They stick for a while, but then eventually are old news. She just had to make it through each trend, no matter how bad it was.

She blinks a few times and gets up off the floor. Ready to resume cleaning before she continues to procrastinate. On goes the music and the thoughts say goodbye like the moon had that morning.
