Grace's POV
It was a peaceful night, I was in the middle of the forest, running. The owls were hooting and the trees rustled their leaves because of the slight breeze. I was running in the mixture of mud and dried leaves, with a smile on my face.
I had finally done it, this was one of the best day of my life. I had killed a blood sucker; my master. I had plunged a silver knife into his heart as he threw himself on the bed, after drinking (and by drinking, I mean alcohol, not blood). Of course, it was much easy as he was not in his senses.
He was easy to kill, he was way too drunk to stop me from murdering him. I had had nine masters and killed them all during the first month, just for my revenge.
These filthy blood suckers snatched our freedom from us, humans and treat us like pets. But I would say that before the vampires ruled, we, humans treated, our pets well, like our companions. But these vampires treat us like garbage.
This was my chance to escape this crazy world where vampires ruled, I had said to myself, so I had gotten out of the house and began to run through the forest.
"Catch the human, she killed him. Search everywhere and bring her back." I heard yelling behind me. Ohh sh*t, I forgot that he had vampire guards.
I ran more quickly as my feet could, I must escape at any cost or if they catch me, I will be brought to the pet shop and sold again as a pet. And I can't let that happen, all I want is freedom, not to slave away.
Three minutes later after running, I had to stop as pairs of red orbs could be seen in front of me.
Vampires
They circled me and looked at me with fury and hunger, as if I was a piece of meat. I took out my silver knife from my pocket and kept it in my hand, squeezing its handle. Why must the vampires have the ability to run really quick?!?
They chuckled at me as they looked at the knife. I was half their size but despite that, I was confident that I could kill them all and I kept my smirk on my face.
"What will you do, huh? Kill us?" One of them asked me and the others bursted into laughter.
"I can try to. Bring it on." I said confidently as I motioned them to attack with my hand. The first vampire jumped on me with super speed but I dodged it quickly and lunged my knife at him. But it just created a long mark on his stomach. And of course, vampires could heal really quick but the matter was different if they were injured by something in silver.
He clutched at his stomach in agony. He didn't have time to do anything that I stabbed him once more on his stomach. He fell on his knees, crying in pain as my knife made contact with his skin.
He opened his eyes to see blood seeping slowly from his body, then without loosing a second, I came infront of the vampire and plunged the silver knife into his heart in a swift and quick motion.
He looked at me with surprise the first time which turned to disbelief and finally to horror when he saw that he had lost to a human.
He was on the ground, not moving as blood was oozing out of his chest.
"Next." I said to the two remaining vampires. At first, they looked surprised at me killing their friend but quickly composed themselves, ready to attack.
They decided to team up instead of going one by one. One came behind and quickly grabbed my two hands so that I was unable to move or defend myself and he yanked my hair so tight that my eyes were forced to meet up at the dark sky. While the other one came infront of me, lowering his face onto my neck and his fangs pierced my skin.
