Alexander's POV
It had already been four days since I had whipped Grace and locked her again in the dungeons. Ever since, I hadn't gone to see her. I shouldn't be so worried about her but there was this strange feeling, nagging at me for beating her so much in front of the vampires four days ago, in the hall. I had given her about fourty lashes and all this time, she didn't scream but she had some unshed tears in her eyes. I tried my best not to hit her hard but I could tell she was in great pain because when I placed her back in the dungeons, she curled up in a corner and sobbed.
I couldn't even say anything to her. And for the past four days, I had been wanting to go and meet her, to see how she was doing. I knew she was famished, even dying with hunger because the prisoners were not given much food. I groaned, placing my forehead onto my palm as I couldn't concentrate on my work anymore. I had heard that Anthony had already woken up and complained about Grace with the King but my plan worked as the Royals decided that I was indeed capable of taming my pet myself. So, the case ended but I knew that Anthony would not give up soon.
He would do something and that was for sure. I don't know what but there was no way that I would let him harm my pet. Grace belonged to me and no one else. I don't care if she harmed him but he will not harm her. I didn't like others touching my property. Seriously, I don't and never even liked Anthony a single bit because he was the most arrogant vampire that I had met. Plus, I had heard that some witches had nearly healed him but he had a very serious injury in his c*ck, so yeah, his recovery became a bit complicated.
Anyway, back to Grace; I wanted to know how she was doing. That thought was tormenting me since all this time. Even when I work or try to sleep. Whenever I would lay on my bed, I would sprawl my arms, cover myself but that warmth wasn't there. I was defted from the warmth of Grace. I groaned, letting my pen fall onto my paper as I pushed all my things away but took hold of a black little notebook. Flicking through the pages, I could discern the small and neat handwriting of Grace and she was only on the letter 'f' in capital.
I took it, placing it into my jacket suit along with a pen and stood up to walk to the coffee table. From the bowl of fruits, I took a red apple along with a tangerine and stuffed them along with the notebook. Walking back to my desk, I opened one of the drawers, revealing a bunch of candies that I had bought yesterday as Grace's sweets had all been eaten. I took a granola bar and a green apple lollipop, hiding them too under my jacket and sighed. What was I doing? Seriously? Was I really going to meet her? I never went to see my pets when they would be locked in the dungeons.
I would leave them be. But, ugh, was I seriously going to the dungeons to see a human? What the hell was wrong with me and why do I feel like I had to see if she was okay or not? Ohh f*ck it. With a last groan, I departed, closing the door behind me. Walking into the corridors, some vampires smiled at me, greeting me while I returned their action but with nervousness. I was just going to see how my pet was doing and if she was still alive. I paid well for her and wouldn't want her to die so soon. It has been just about two months that I bought her.
Scampering down the stairs, I saw some slaves getting the table ready for lunch which would be in about fifteen minutes or so. They all bowed their heads in respect as they had witnessed Grace's whipping four days ago. I paid no attention to them and continued walking. "Alexander!" I heard Isabella calling me from behind. Pulling my jacket well onto me and ensuring that none of the food were visible from under, I turned to her and smiled. I sighed, trying to act normal when I saw that she had just returned from shopping.
