Warning: This chapter also contain a small piece of domestic violence. So, do not read if you feel uncomfortable.

Anyway, I hope that you guys enjoy this chapter and I'm warning you already, do not ship Grace and her new friend that she'll make in this chapter. And one more thing, the more interesting chapters are coming after this one. Ones that are quite steamy😏.

I slowly woke up, my head pounding harshly and painfully, still on the floor. I looked around for a little while, letting my vision adjust to the darkness of the cell. I groaned trying to sit up on my elbows but didn't succeed.

So I just laid on the cold floor, an atrocious pain spreading throughout my body, not able to move. I stayed in my position, limp, as I tried to look for something that I could grab in order to sit or even stand, if I could. And suddenly it hit me.

I was recalling of whatever happened before blacking out. Alexander had tortured me one last time, mentally. I had.....failed this one too, I hadn't thought that one day I would say that but yes, I, Grace, the one who had always killed and won against these night crawlers, had today, lost to one.

I shook my head, thinking about the other things that had happened else, trying to pry off these thoughts from my head. I didn't want to remember my defeat. I remember that I had spat on him, which I was happy about, then I told him to go to hell, ohh and he had also kicked me.

I had heard a crack when he was kicking me in my stomach. That must have meant that he had broken my bones; my ribs maybe. I had had some broken bones from beatings sometimes.

I think that my first time that I broke my spine was actually when I was just fifteen years old. And of course, vampires didn't care about that and had left me to suffer for about some days. Then initially they had figured out that they had to heal me in order for me to not die and-

I stopped thinking, my ears hearing a little and faint sound as if a chain had clinged. I turned my head in pain, looking frantically around the small cell to search for the cause of the sound. My eyes stopped on something that was moving, sensing a presence into the cell.

I squinted, in order to see the thing that was in the dark, or someone. It was a posture, a quite tall one, resembling like a man's. "Who's there?!" I asked, alert and looking around me for a weapon to defend myself if it was a vampire.

I started panicking as I saw that I was completely at the mercy at the creature with no weapon, no energy and being limped, not able to move away as I was completely wreaked. Beads of sweat started to form on my forehead as I waited for an answer.

What if it was truly a vampire?! The thought of not being alone and with a creature in the same as me made my breath become uneven, my chest rising up and down dramatically. Alexander wouldn't lock me with a vampire....would he? But again, he looked quite furious.

"Don't be scared, I'm not gonna harm you." it said with a man's voice and it was gentle yet soothing, innocence dripping from the mouth of the person. But, who would trust that? Instead of calming down, I tried to back away, ignoring the pain in my abdomen.

The posture slowly walked into the light that was provided by the flame lamps outside the cells, hanging on the walls. I watched it approaching nearer to me. I could see his face; light brown hair, shining yellow eyes that glinted into the dark but somehow showed sadness, he was quite tall.
