Rumaisa just finished her blog and was lying down on her bed checking the comments when Sarah comes in.

"Hey You!"
"Hajiya? What you want?" She asks.

"Fuad is here to see you" she tells her.
"Oh really?" She jumps off the bed.
"Yeah, he doesn't seem to be in a good mood".

She giggles "I know. What about Mutassim, did he leave?"
"Oh how nice would that be right? But no. Mutassim didn't leave with your dad, mum and sisters. He and his wife will be going back in two days. And he told me to personally escort you there".

"He's prying, I can handle myself".
"Well that's why I was fortunate enough to be the only child".

"Actually it wasn't fortune especially not for your parents" she says before she grabs her veil and walks out.

She met Fuad typing something on his phone, smiling.
It's probably hadiza she said to herself. Who am I kidding I'm sure it's her, but it's not like I'm jealous.

"Hey" She says sitting across him.
"How are you?" He replied back with a straight face, no smile, not like he usually did.

"What's wrong?" She asks.
"How are you ?" He asks again.

"I'm okay, What about you?" She asks.
"I'm good". He says before he continues typing on his phone.

"You know it's not like I love the idea of us getting married. You know that right?" She asks.

He looks at her and continues typing on his phone, but faster.
"I know you don't love me either so there is no need to force yourself".

"You see that's exactly what I don't get. I don't get why I'm okay with marrying you, like a heavy burden has been lifted from my head. I don't get why I still have feelings for you and I don't get why I'm looking forward to introducing you to others as my wife" He says staring at her, waiting for response.

She looks away, blushing.
He smiles.
"I know you don't love me. It's fine all we need is time, right?" He asks.

"But times doesn't work for situations like ours"
"Maybe all you need is to let go off the past".

"It's easier said than done".
"No matter how hard it is you have to try because it looks like this affects you more than it affects me and we don't have a choice".

"So getting married to me affects you?"
"You're not perfect, nobody is. We all have our ups and downs".

"And mine is?"
"I don't think I have to tell you".

"No please do" She says folding her arms.
"Do you need to hear it from me?".

"Yeah I want to".
"You are rude and spoilt" he tells her straight forward.

"Oh! I am? How nice" she says sarcastically.
"That's my problem with women they ask for the truth and they get angry when they hear it" He says laughing.

"And that has always been my problem with you, you can't tell people what they want to hear".

"You asked for my honest opinion and I told you, you'd prefer I lie to you and then you go out looking stupid".

"Wow! You really know what to say to make a girl hate you"
"I think I'm still overwhelmed by the whole situation" He says.

"I am too" She replies back.
He looks away.
"I should go. I don't think this is going the right way".

"Yeah"
"I thought it's better if you hear the truth".
"You and I both know it's not. You believe what you want to hear".
"Did you see me post the video?"

"I don't want to talk about it".
"No, let's talk about it. Let's face it now".

"And if I don't" She asks raising her eyebrows.
"This is getting really annoying. I have to go, I have a meeting I have to get to".

"Are you angry?" She asks.
"You always did have a way to make sure I was" He gets up.

"Tell Mutassim I had to attend a meeting"he leaves.
She sat there still thinking of their conversation. She knew she never likes people who are direct but that was one of his qualities that she really liked.

:

Mutassim and Madina walk in talking but pause when they see her seated absentmindedly on the couch.

"He left already? I thought he was staying for lunch at least mah" He says before he sits.
"Yeah he said he has a meeting he had to attend immediately" She says uncomfortably.

"Hope there were no arguments?" He asks her.
She smiles "Not that I know of".

"You got what you wanted, I don't know what it is you're planning or if you really do want this but don't waste your time on petty revenge. Meet someone and be happy and if he's the one then leave the past behind" he says walking inside with his wife.

He and Jabir were the same to her, they didn't see the clear picture she sees but they'll understand eventually.

:

After his meeting Fuad went to see Hadiza at their house.

He sat in the living room waiting.

She walks in with a scowl on her face and sits next to him "I was surprised when I heard you came, I thought you would stay with your fiancé instead".

"I'm sorry Hadiza I had no idea. I'm forced into this just as much as she is".
"Fuad? Are you here to apologize or defend her?"

"No. I didn't mean it that way" He says apologetically.
"How inspiring, fighting for the girl he loves. God! I really thought you got over her".

"I told you when you asked me out. I said I wasn't over my ex and you said it was fine"

"I thought it would change with time"
"It doesn't work that way, you know it"

"I thought you really liked me"
"I do like you, it's just that I have obligations towards my parents"

"Of course you do"
"Hadiza I do like you a lot and it was not my intention to hurt you that would be unfair to you. I have to do this but if there was another way out I promise you, you'd not be the one I would be telling this"

"You like me but you love her, right?" She asks expectantly.
He knew she was waiting for him to say no even if she knows the answer.

"Would you prefer I lie to you or tell you the truth?" He asks.
"What do you think I want to hear right now?"

"Sometimes telling people what they want to hear causes more heartache"
"And sometimes you don't know how relived you can make them feel just to hear those words"

"If I like you and care for you like I say I do, I wouldn't do that because I would be hurting you and that wouldn't be fair"

"Then if you know you're hurting me why are you still here?"
"I want us to have a clean break. I don't want us to be friends I just want us to be okay with each other "

"So we can't even be friends?" She scoffs.
"If we were friends it would also be unfair. I would feel bad every time I saw you and you still have feelings, how would you feel whenever you see me?"

"You are so confident that I have feelings for you".
"I don't want to hurt you"

"And I don't want to see you"
"At least let me make things right".

"You can't make things right, I was embarrassed" she says angrily "Infront of—" she trails off and huffs.
"Let's just give each other space until it sinks in".

"Okay but I want you to know I care about you a lot and I didn't want things to happen this way, I never did".

He gets up.
"I really am sorry" He starts to walk away.

He looks back at her.
"Now you can be with him" He asks, she looks at him confused "The guy who keeps calling you, I'm not sure if you feel the same way but he seems to be desperate to talk to you all the time"

"How did...how did you know?"
"It's nothing to be ashamed of, I know you weren't interested because of me but I really do want you to be happy with someone who sees your true value, you deserve it" he walks away.
