Fifteen

For the last two weeks Fuad hasn't been able to stop thinking of what Rumaisa was planning for him.
He knew he couldn't ask Jabir about it because he knew Jabir would always pick her side. He sat outside with Walidain who kept talking about his last football match.

"I asked you a question but it seems you're not sure" Fuad says.
"Look, it does seem out of place that Rumaisa is acting different and like you said you can't ask Hadiza to be on the lookout because she's trying to get her life straight, you'll be hurting her but you also can't sit and watch"

"You're right".
"So how has she been since you asked her about it?"

"That's one of the things that freak me out. She's a lot nicer than she ever was".
"Yeah you definitely can't trust her".

"Unfortunately this is the part my sister comes in"
"I don't want you messing with my future wifey".

"We both know I'd never ever let you marry my sister, not even if you were dying".
"Haha very funny, greedy bastard. You go around with other people's sisters, daughters but you don't want anyone near yours".

Fuad and Rumaisa attended a Seminar for CEO's and unfortunately he was assigned a sit on the same table with Hadiza.

He looked a bit uncomfortable while Rumaisa was using my phone.
"I'm glad you came" he says, Rumaisa glares at him.

"I didn't know you were coming, what are you doing here?" Rumaisa asks.

"Well if you haven't forgotten Mudassir is also a ceo" She says looking annoyed.
"It's really good to see you here, you look amazing" he says smiling.

She smiles "Mudassir got it for me, apparently my style is kind of wack".

"Yeah he has always been that way" he laughs.
"Well you should go backstage they are going to start looking for you anyway"
"I should"

She nods.
"Let's go together" he says hovering over her.
"I'm not a CEO although Mudassir has finally given me my 20%"

"Mudassir finally gave you? That's great".
"Yeah"
"Then you should be the first person on stage" he says before they walk away.

Rumaisa was boiling with anger.
"That's not what I expected to see" Jabir says when he sits beside her.

"Jabir, what do you want?" She asks.
"You look pissed" he says not answering her question.

"And that's none of your business".
He looks at her deeply for minutes, his eyes not drifting, not even for a second.

"You really love Fuad, don't you?" He asks with a serious tone.
"And why is it shocking that she loves my brother?"

They both turned around, shocked.
Salis was standing there wearing his suit, looking at them questionably.

She knew she has to be very careful because firstly Salis never liked her and secondly he cares about his brother deeply and thirdly he wasn't one to let things go.

"What are you talking about?" She asks smiling sheepishly.
"I'm not stupid or daft I know what I heard. So tell me Jabir, why does it shock you so much that my sister in law is in love with her husband? I thought you loved him?" He asks her.

Rumaisa was practically shaking the worst thing is for Fuad to find out, she knew he'd suspect something was up. And he would never let go until he found out what was really going on.

"Look Salis—"
He cuts her off "—Address me with respect, I might be your husband's younger brother but I'm older than you are".

"But not me".
"But what would he say if he heard what you just said, especially something coming from the guy that is in love with his wife".

Salis Ibrahim Maitama as our CFO of the year.

The host calls his name.
He smiles "we'll talk later then" he walks away.

"You see, look what you just got me into" She says angrily.
"He won't say a thing. I'll talk to him, he's not a snitch"

"It's not snitching he's just protecting his brother from us"
He walks away in a hurry.

Fuad sat on the top table with the other winners on the stage and Hadiza right next to him. They kept talking and laughing like she was the one he married. Some people laughed saying friendship goals or stalker goals but Rumaisa wasn't feeling all those goals she was angry, she didn't get why Fuad would make her stay close to him whenever they met in public except if she had something she's using to keep him by her side. Probably blackmail.

Well Rumaisa you thought wrong.

Our last announcement is from the sponsors of the Live Foundation, please welcome Fuad Ibrahim Maitama And Hadiza Lawal with her co-partner Mutassim Ali Bature.

The crowd started clapping.
"What the hell?" Rumaisa said.
"Rumy what is going on here?" Sarah asks.
"I'm as shocked as you are. How do they actually get to work on the foundation together?"

Hadiza And Fuad came forward to give their speech. Fuad went first.
This is an extraordinary day and I would like to thank my family and co-workers for working hard. Today I'm proud to say we have made it and inshallah Maitama co. and Live Foundation will continue to succeed worldwide. I would also like to thank the wonderful woman who lifted me up through this tough time and gave me the strength I needed, the woman who went through hell and back with my stubbornness when I wanted to give up, the woman I owe everything to, she's my everything and my partner till the end of time, I'd like you all to give a round of applause for Hadiza Lawal.
The crowd started clapping except a few people in the crowd who turned their gaze to Rumaisa. She felt like punching him just as hard as she would punch Hadiza because if he wasn't stupid enough to let her into their private life she wouldn't be able to interfere.

She shakes his hand, she felt uncomfortable.
She didn't want anyone thinking she's a home wrecker and that speech though yo him came from the heart and it's true but it didn't sit right with her, especially the way Mutassim kept glaring.

You've been with me through my work and personal drama. You're my best friend and partner. We had Each other to build a foundation that wouldn't help our environment alone but the people within it, to our board of trustees and helpers thank you so much.

She hands the microphone back to him.
Thank you and goodnight. He says before giving the host.

Moments later he was walking back to his as she walked in front. Rumaisa got up ready to start letting her fume out.
Then they made eye contact with Hadiza. Hadiza was frowning, Fuad whispers something in her ear before they make a quick U turn.

"What do you think you're going to do?" Sarah asks looking at her confused.
"I'm going to make her regret coming near him".

"Don't make him choose sides because he is definitely going to choose her"
"I'm his wife. He loves me"

"But she is someone who has been there for him even when he gave up on himself. The only reason he isn't married to her is because his parents forced him to marry you and honestly I don't think messing with her is right. It's never too late for him to get married again and everyone knows if he would, he'd most definitely marry Hadiza. He really cares about her".
The more Sarah talked the more Rumaisa became sad rather than angry.

"I'm back" Fuad says with a wide smile.
"Where is Hadiza?" Sarah asks.
"Oh! She wasn't feeling so well so she left with Mudassir"

"Fuad we'll need to talk later about a few issues" Salis says to Fuad but looking at Rumaisa.

"He's busy" she says " We have somewhere to stop first".
"I know. I'll see you at your house I need to go somewhere first too". He says back.

"Okay then let's meet there, but can you take Saratu with you? I don't want mama getting angry we dumped her sister".

He groans "She talks too much, why?"
"I'm right here".

"Let's go" Fuad tells Rumaisa before he walks away.
