Seventeen: Flashback

This Chapter is purely flashbacks before Rumaisa came back from Hungary. To fill in some empty spaces.
               
And the last flashback will be part of the puzzle I'm trying to fix up, although it's not as easy as I thought it would be. Turns out trying to make a puzzle out of a situation in a book is harder than it seems because they all have to correspond, so if something isn't sorted well I apologize and please let me know so I can change it.

Flashback: Hadiza And Fuad

She was walking down the road going over to pick her sister from her friend's house.
 
Then a car parked in front of her. She knew that car wherever she saw it.
He came out and locked the car, started walking towards her smiling.
  
"What are you doing walking on the street alone?" He asks her.
"Don't talk to me" She says as she continues walking.
  
He joins her and they walk together.
"Tell me what did I do now?" He asks her.
"I haven't seen you for over 2 weeks now"
"But we talk everyday".
    
"It still isn't the same" she says back pouting.
"Really?" He asks sarcastically.

"No. It's true"
"Okay then. I'm sorry for not coming to see you. Forgive me".
   
She stays quiet.
"So is that a yes?" He asks.
"Yes, just wanted you to apologize" She says laughing.

"So where are you going?"
"I'm picking Zainab from her friend's house".

"Why didn't Kamal do it? He's a guy but i don't like you walking on the street alone at least he should have escorted you"
     
"Yeah but I wanted to exercise my legs by the way it's only like 600ft"
"At least you wore a long hijab".
     
"And I don't think walking around with something tight is advisable".
  
"Yeah. Let me take you there with my car then drop you home"
"Oh that would be better"
   
"I thought you would stay and exercise your legs" He says mocking her.
"I can do that at home"

They turn back and enter his car.
"But Fuad when are we going to make things official with our family??"
"I thought you didn't want that now?" He asked a bit perplexed.
    
"Well I'm getting older and all my friends are getting married anyway".
"Okay then, don't worry. Just give me the date and time"
     
"Baba isn't around. But he'll be coming back in two weeks. All I know is on the 13th".

"Alright then" He smiles.
"I can't believe it" she says excitedly.

He stands there looking at her, maybe it's better to get his life straight and marrying someone like Hadiza is the best way to. She stabilized him.

Flashback: Sarah and Jabir

  

"Do we really have to keep pretending we aren't together?" She asks pouting.

If you're looking for stupid, Saratu is the perfect person. She doesn't get that he doesn't like or love her and all he wants is for him to be with the only girl he likes.
Do you really think she doesn't know? Or she's just pretending or even planning something no one is expecting not even her best friend or secret lover?

"Yeah just for a while".
"But Rumaisa is coming back soon".
"Yeah so? You're the one who gave me the idea of getting her to start this so called revenge" he tells her.

"Yeah. So?" She asks him.
"But why? Why do you want to help me?"
    
"I don't want her with him. It's that simple"
"Oh you like him?" He asks offended.
    
"Don't get angry. I just don't want him with her".
"But he's your step nephew"
     
"And we are really close. He's a calm and admirable man, I would like my sister to marry someone like him if I had a sister".
     
"But Mutassim won't like it if he hears about this whole revenge thing so no matter what don't tell Mutassim".
"Okay then. And don't tell him I planned it all. Promise?" She asks.
     
"Yeah whatever I don't want her getting hurt...and uhh...you of course".
She rolls her eyes.
  
"Like you care"
"What do you mean? Of course I do"
    
"You are terrible lair. You don't have to lie to me".
"I'm not lying, baby don't say that. You know how much I love you".
     
"When you want something. Anyways why did you call me?".

"We'll talk after we eat"
They both continue to look through their menu.
"I don't get why we had to come to a restaurant".
    
"Because I like restaurants" he says back smiling.

Flashback: Mutassim And Hadiza
*This was before the sextape, Fuad and Rumaisa were dating*
    

"So when are we going to keep meeting in secret?" He asks her
"Just a while longer"
     
"But why? I want us to be public or are you scared Fuad might never look at you the same way?"
     
"Of course, you're married and I know things will never make sense for you and I"
"Trust me baby, I'll leave her if that's what you want".

"When we started this relationship you told me you weren't married, when I found out you said you were forced but I don't want you to leave your wife because of me".

"I love you so much and I'd do anything for you. If I had met you sooner I would have never married her".
"I'm not sure how I feel about this Mutassim".

He smiles "I love the way you say my name, it sounds so sexy"
"Mutassim I'm serious".

"She just said it again" he smiles.
She groans making him laugh hard.

"Sorry for making you wait, I had to make sure Fatima left".
"Where did she have to go?" Hadiza asks.
    
"Momi said she had to go and stay over at our aunt's house"
"Oh alright" Mutassim says smugly.
    
"What were you two talking about?" He asks her.
"Nothing of importance" she says back shyly.
   
"So how is your relationship with my sister?" Mutassim asks.
"Steady. We are taking things slow but things are going well thanks to my advisor here" he tells him smiling at Hadiza who in turn just giggled.

"Well Hadiza don't you think you should get back now"
"Yeah I should" She leaves obviously upset.

"She's surprisingly cool".
"Oh really?" Mutassim asks.
"Yeah".
"You like her, don't you?" He asks winking.
     
"Well she's an amazing person but I'm dating your sister so....not gonna happen".
   "Oh it won't".

Flashback: Salis, Kauthar And Sarah

"Alright it's all set up" Sarah says smiling at Kauthar.
"Okay then. Where is Salis?" Hadiza asks.
     "Cyber cafe"

"So what you are telling me is... it's going to be over once and for all?"
   
"But Fuad is in the video too. Aren't you going to expose him as well?"
"Come on Kauthar, would Salis ever let his brother's image drown? He's almost obsessed with protecting his brother and he thinks that's what he's doing by pushing Rumaisa off the cliff. And I'm letting him see it that way".
     "Devil" she laughs.

He comes back.
"Fuad can never know I put the camera in his room or that I was the one who uploaded it. Understand?" He asks seriously.
   
"Okay, So what do we do now?" Kauthar asks.

"Wait for it to spread like wild fire". Sarah answers.
    
He starts the engine.
"And Hadiza will always  be there for him" he says.
"No doubt about that" Sarah says.
"If she doesn't take this opportunity then she'd be stupid" he answers back.
    
"Don't worry I doubt she can stand seeing him hurt"

"Now we will separate them officially". Sarah says giggling in the back seat.
