Elizabeth’s POV
When we arrived back at the camp site, everybody started to place on their sweaters and jackets due to the cold breeze that was starting to form as the sun was starting to set over the mountain landscape. It looked so beautiful. The way the different colors in the sky blended together along with the clouds turning. First starting with a light yellow to orange to purple, I have never seen such a beautiful sunset before.
A couple of our class mates took out their cameras and phones to take a picture. Why should I not do that too, nothing wrong with saving a memory, I thought to myself as I snapped a picture of the sunset on my phone.
Mr. Stewart and Mr. Johnson set up a fire in the middle of a circle with chairs surrounding it so we could all take a seat and warm up. For a while it was peacefully quiet, as we all just sat around making small talk enjoying each other’s company and eating smores. I haven’t felt this at peace in a long time.
LATER THAT NIGHT
"Alright kids! Lights out! We have to wake up early so we can pack our stuff and load the bus that way we can spend the whole day down at the lake before we leave” Mr. Stewart said as everyone was getting into their tents holding onto his flashlight.“So no one better have a sudden burst of mischievousness and decide to leave off and wonder into the middle of the night” Mr. Johnson spoke as he turned and pointed his flashlight at Jeff and Shawn. They looked up at him and gave him a “Who? Us?” look.
“Yes, I especially mean you two. You two are always the ones to conjure up some sort of plan that only ends up getting you into trouble.” Mr Johsnon says his tone holding a small warning with a smirk on his face his statement earning a few laughs form the other students.
As Mr. Stewart and Mr. Johnson both got into their tent everyone else did the same. I crawled into my tent about to climb into my sleeping bag when I saw Harry poke his head through the door.
“Goodnight Elizabeth” He said giving me a friendly smile before walking away. I smiled and shook my head. That boy is something.
I was starting to get sleepy once I warmed up. I was curled up into a ball snuggling into my sleeping bag trying to avoid any cold air to pass through. I could feel myself slowly letting slumber take me when I felt someone roughly shake my shoulder. I turned my head and blinked a few times and saw Jeff.
“Elizabeth get up!” He whispered.
I groaned. “What do you want?”
“We are going on a midnight walk. Come on lets go, the rest of the lads are waiting for you!” he said climbing out of my tent. I groaned rolling my eyes. I climbed out of my tent with my flashlight hand looking up and seeing Chloe, Emily, and Shawn standing there as well. They were all still dressed in there pajamas but had there thick jackets on only revealing there bottoms and trainers.
“Are you crazy?!” I whispered raising my eyebrows at them.
“Come on Parker, live a little.” Shawn said playfully hitting my arm as the rest of our friends started to walk away from the camp site. I rolled my eyes once more following them.
Well if we die, we die together.
