Amerie

"She's here again Alpha?" His beta had told him.

"Shh everyone continue your training, we must be prepare for when these demons attack at. We have to be prepared for when the humans are in need of our help." Watching his warriors train had always been blissful to him, to know that he is in charge of such a mighty pack.

Sure there were other packs but none had compared to his pack.

Walking towards a tree, he looked up only to see a small child hiding on a branch in the leaves.

"Won't you come down from there?" He cooed hoping she was not frightened of him.

And of course she was not when she jump down the tree as if she had done this many times before.

"Hi there." The young Alpha smiled at the sight of a small girl before him.

Looking at him, she looked curious. She knew he was different and that he wasn't afraid of her nor scared of her.

She has come here many times just to watch them train. It was liberating for her. And in the morning she would find a plate of food just for her.

Bending down the Alpha patted her head like you would do when a father praises his daughter.

Toothless, she smiled at his warmth. She was in deed missing one of her tooth and was covered in dirt. Her smell did not help him at all seeing she was filthy from her head to her toes.

"What's your name?" The Alpha asked. Even when in fact he knew of her. The rumors that were told, can't be true. He never believed in such lies. How could he when he is staring her in the face, her innocent, her shy like demeanor.

"I'm Alpha Marcus."

"Amerie." She spoke ever so softly, for a child she was in deed brave knowing what these wolves would do to her kind.

"Thump, Thump, Thump." Slowly it beats.

Breath in and breath out, breath in and breath out.

The little girl ran through the forest without a care in the world. For the first time in all her twelfth year of her life she was happy.

A pack, an Alpha no less had taken her in.

From the time, his pack had accepted her, treat her like one of their own. She never knew what a family was until now.

Alpha Marcus even had trained her from swords to combat, he was a very skilled fighter.

He had smiled at her warmly every time she had entered his presence.

But lately Alpha Marcus has locked himself away doing who knows what.

He has been distancing himself and she didn't know why.

Had she done something wrong? Was it her fault?

Arriving home with a bunch of flowers, she thought to cheer him up. Maybe he was ill?

Once she had arrived at the pack, it was quiet. Usually there would be pups running around the field or the woman tending to their gardens.

None that's what made her heart trembled.

Slowly entering his home she was met with a horrified scene.

The room was tainted in blood as Alpha Marcus stood over the body of what was called his daughter, his one year old daughter.
