Chapter 16

Your P.O.V

The next day we got up relieved, no more studying or exams. It was Tuesday. This was gonna be the last full day of school before the Christmas holidays, tomorrow would be a half day for the exam graduation.

When we got to school it was all a normal day until our very last lesson when our teacher told us we could have a free lesson. She put a Christmas quiz up on the board for those who didn't do anything. Me and Light wanted to do it for fun, then Ryuzaki competed with us.

When the teacher scored our quizzes our team got the same amount as Ryuzaki's. "Well, I hope to see who did best on the exams tomorrow,"Light muttered quietly.

L's P.O.V

I smiled. Light wanted to win, he's the kind of person who doesn't like to lose, just like Kira. It has to be him, I won't give up trying to prove it. (Y/N) must be his new accomplice, too bad, she seems a nice person.

Your P.O.V

We fidgeted awkwardly for the rest of the lesson until Ryuzaki said," So you mentioned on Sunday at the ice rink that you'd gladly help me out. Would you two be free Thursday?" He asked us.

Of course we didn't want to but we agreed anyway, when the bell rang everyone rushed to get out. "Well, see you at the graduation," he said waving goodbye.

When we got inside the house and got to Light's bedroom, Ryuk glanced around for a minute then said,"The cameras are gone Light". Light smiled then rewarded him with an apple.

We watched some movies for a few hours then Light got up to iron his suit for the graduation tomorrow. He folded it up neatly and laid it on his desk chair. It was weird thinking that I've stayed here longer than a week now. I remembered the first time he brought me here, when he drugged me.

"What's up (Y/N)?" Light asked gently. I shook my head and replied with,"Nothing". He slipped his arm round me for a few minutes then we got ready for bed.

In the morning we got up a bit early to get ready for the graduation. Light's mum hugged Light and wished him best of luck while Sayu was chanting,"You got this Light!". His dad was asleep in his room, he never got to do much other than sleep because he was always so busy with the Kira case.

We sat down in a row of seats in the hall at school, some adults were about to announce the student with the highest marks. "Sir Light Yagami and Hideki Ryuga". I gasped, that was another one of L's fake names. How did they both get the highest mark? The announcer said that they both got an
A+ for every single subject, 100%. A lot of students in the hall were shocked. Well, they did far better than me, the highest score I got was a low C for one subject, was a pass but still disappointing.

Light and L stood up to the front of the hall to shake hands, Light wasn't impressed though, he looked rather angry and annoyed.

When it was all over Light told me to go home while he had to stay for a bit longer to get his picture taken with the school. When I got home I instantly got bored and put my coat straight back on, I had an idea.

I decided to go buy Light a Christmas present since it was coming this Saturday. I didn't know what to get him at first, I wasn't sure what he had an interest in. I ended up buying him a watch, it seemed a great hiding place for a scrap of paper.

When I got home he still wasn't back, I entered his bedroom to find a bunch of missed calls on my phone from Light. Why didn't I take it with me? He also sent me some messages asking me where I was. He was home not long ago. I hid his present somewhere in his room before picking up my phone to reply.

But before I could call him I suddenly heard him slam the bedroom door open. He grabbed my wrists then screamed at me,"Where the hell were you?!". I didn't know what to say at first because if I told him about the present it wouldn't be a surprise anymore.

But he took this the wrong way, he thought I was pausing to make up an excuse for running away. He squeezed my wrists tighter then shouted,"I told you to go home, I expect you to stay home. Do not disobey me (Y/N)! How dare you even think of trying to run!".

I snapped out of my thoughts then said," I wasn't trying to run! I went.. shopping..". He raised an eyebrow, finding it hard to believe me. He then shouted again saying," If you wanted to go out, you are to ask my permission first! You are to stay by my side from now on until I can trust you again". With that he slammed me into the wall making my knuckles bleed.

He let go of me, I know he didn't mean to push me that hard, but he didn't apologise anyway. I held my hand in shock while blood started streaming down my fingers. He only smirked then took off his coat to hang it up.

He then glanced in my direction, his eyes turned red again. He then shoved me onto the bed pinning my legs down. He forced me to lie down then took one of my hands and held it up to his face.

"I'll make you feel better my sweet," he whispered. He kissed my hand leaving blood on his lips, he licked it away while taking in my expression. I only made him smirk more, then he started licking my hand, he was basically drinking my blood.

"You taste lovely," he whispered while I shut my eyes I bit scared of him again. Why did he act like this sometimes? It's like someone switches him on and off.
