My head hurt like crazy.
With Jimin in my arms, who finally fell asleep after crying for almost two full hours, I reflected on the past few weeks of my life.
It's been too much lately.
First, the whole thing with Mini and her excrapfriend.
Second, the somehow very fucked up fact, that this exact ex was still around the corner of my workplace and could probably barge in at any given moment. I was scared for Jinhye, I didn't even want to let her out of my sight anymore. But I kind of fooled myself into trusting Jihoon's ability to protect her, as long as I wasn't there to do it.
Third, suddenly having my oldest friend back by my side, after being alone for more than a decade. Which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it still added up to it.
Lastly, the strange athmosphere that felt like someone slapped my face, when I entered my flat earlier.
Something happened, while I wasn't home and I didn't know what it was. But it creeped me out.
I glued my gaze to Mini's beautiful face, softly running my fingers through her hair. She was sleeping so deeply, it almost looked like she had passed out. Like she was so exhausted, she couldn't keep her eyes open anymore.
Gently pushing some hair out of her face, I turned around as carefully as somehow possible, when I heard the vibration of my phone, telling me, that I received a message.
I unlocked it and squinted my eyes for a moment, completely blinded by the strong light that hit my face perfectly, but soon started smiling a little, when I saw the name and content of the message.

Hoon, You
Hoon, 1:07AM
How'd it go? Did she remember you?
You, 1:07AM
You're still up? Go to sleep.
Hoon, 1:08AM
Aren't you younger than me?
You, 1:08AM
Looking at my age, yeah.
mentally, weeell...
Hoon, 1:08AM
I know where you live.
You, 1:09AM
Woops. Door's locked.
Hoon, 1:09AM
ANYWAYS....
Answer my question.
You, 1:09AM
Should I? Meet me later, around... 2pm.
There's a small coffee shop down the road of my flat.
Hoon, 1:09AM
Will you bring her?
You, 1:10AM
🤷🏻♂️
Hoon, 1:13AM
Do you know how annoying you are to people around you?
You, 1:13AM
Says the guy who looked for me for over two months? ❤️

My phone found its way back to my nightstand and I turned around to look at Jimin, cupping her face with my hands and kissing her awake. It took her a few seconds, but she started blinking, catching my eyes with a confused look in her own.
"Wh-.. What happened...? Did I miss something?"
I threw her a slight smile and shook my head no, placing the tip of my thumb on her cheekbone right under her eye.
"Hoon texted me. We're meeting at 2PM."
Her eyes lit up, the second she heard the familiar name.
"Does he know, I'm coming with you?"
"Not sure, I teased him about it."
"Wah, you two are serously still going after each others throats. Can't believe I didn't recognize you."
I smirked and it was her turn to smile at me, while she wrapped her arms around my neck and buried her face in the crook of it. I felt so peaceful all of a sudden, despite the pain, that was still hammering against my forehead.
"He must've changed a lot, though.. I can't imagine what he looks like."
"Well, he got pretty tall. Smaller than me though. And still has the same haircut and the same face and he's still an idiot."
Her tiny snort made her body vibrate in my arms and I wrapped them tighter around her, letting the sound of her laughter make me laugh too.
[a/n: Oof. I did... something.]
