What are the odds that book store boy would see me in the hospital looking like hell?! My luck! I run out of the hospital while he is talking to Lisa and his mother. In the elevator, I think about how badly my leg hurt, my father, my mother and my life. My life is a train wreck.

I walk to the car and lean against it, waiting for Lisa to return. When she does, she gives me an apologetic look and unlocks the door. I get in the passenger side and reach for my jacket in the backseat. I put on my hoodie and lean my head on the headrest.

I take my pain medication following it down by water when we pass the book store. I want to go in and relax my mind.

"Lisa, can you stop? I want to get a new book." I ask.

"Didn't you just buy one?" I look at her and she stops, letting me out. "Call me when I should come and get you. And don't strain your leg too much."

I close the door and watch as she drives away before I walk into the book store. I look around for thirty minutes then walk out of the store without buying anything. I feel a presence to my right and look to see no one.

I start walking down the street, trying to dial Lisa's phone number when I hear footsteps following me.

Not again. Please, God, not again!

I decide I'm not waiting around to find out who it is and break out running. The footsteps run after me and I push myself to run faster, even though I am in extreme pain. I pass an alley way with lights and cheers coming from it, but keep running. I feel my leg throbbing and I think it's bleeding. It's dark and I don't know where to turn, as I try to catch my breath and start to feel weak, I feel my body being pushed into a different alley way and a hand over my mouth. I open my eyes in pain to see two blurry images, but I know who they are.

"You can't get away that easy, bitch." Jackson smirks.

"Where's my money?" Daniel says as his hand covers my mouth.

After my last victory of the night, I walk to my car which is parked down the road. I think about the last guy I fought. He was bigger than me and stronger than me, but I still won, walking away with small bruises.

I see my black Mustang down the street and can't wait to go home and crash. Suddenly, I hear a muffled shriek and stop in my tracks.

"Don't make me ask again." I hear a man say. Then, a loud thud occurs as if a body fell to the ground. I walk a little faster to the alley near my car and peak inside, careful not to get noticed. I look and see two men cornering someone. The younger one kicks the person and the older one backs up. As he backs away, I see the girl's face.

Book store girl.

As the younger man kicks her again, she whimpers and clutches her left leg. I run into the alley, without thinking of a plan or why I'm about to help this girl, and attack the older man. I kick him in the back making him fall to the ground and the younger boy looks at me, like he's about to fight me. I take my stance.

"Come on, asshole." I torment him, gesturing him with my fingers to come onto me. Bookstore girl looks at me with tears in her eyes. I gesture her with my head to run, trying to reassure her that I'd find her when I was done taking the trash out. Then I start fighting.

I uppercut his jaw and do a round house kick to his stomach, causing him to lose balance and push him against the wall multiple times, causing him to hit his head. The older man stands and draws a knife. I throw the boy to the ground and kick the knife out of the other guy's hand.
