Juliet
I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
It's been a full twenty-four hours and there has been no activity from Daniel or Jackson.
It's Sunday morning and I'm sitting in my room, staring at the song I wrote about Ashton. I try humming it, but I can't find the right melody.
I try it in a fast pace.
Nope.
I try it in a slow pace.
Nope.
Nothing is working! Why is nothing working with this song?!
"Jay?" Lisa calls from the hallway.
"Lisa, you can call me Juliet."
"I know, I've just become accustomed to Jay. I wanted to know if you wanted anything special from the grocery store?"
"I'm good, thank you." I say, staring at the paper.
"What are you doing?" She asks, now in my doorway.
"Try to find a melody for the song I wrote."
"You're writing again?"
"It was just one song, but I guess you could say that."
"Does this have anything to do with lover boy?"
"Lisa!"
"What! I'm not blind!"
"No, it's not." I hear nothing in return so I decide to look at her. She has one eyebrow lifted and her arms crossed with a grin on her face. "Maybe."
"I knew it!" She says, walking away. "Oh, and someone left a message on the voicemail for you."
I walk to the kitchen and pick up the house phone, dialing our voicemail and listening to the saved messages. When the last saved message is played, I feel my body go into shock.
"Hi Jay, this is Ms. Myers calling. I hope you're feeling better. I was calling to let you know that you have been cast in Fairebank High's production of Mamma Mia as Sophie Sheridan. Rehearsals start in December, so I hope you're up to it! See you in school!" And with that the message ends.
"AHHHHHHHH" I scream at the top of my lungs. I start jumping up and down in circles like a giddy little girl and scream for Lisa, but she left already. So I do the only logical thing I can think of.
I call Ashton.
The phone rings four times before he answers.
"Hey!" He greets.
"I got in! Myers cast me! You were right! I can't believe it!" I shout rapidly.
"You're in the musical?"
"I'm the lead!"
"Holy shit, congratulations!"
"Oh my God, Ashton! I've never been able to do a musical before! This is... This is... AHHHHH!"
"Jesus, what are you trying to do, burst my ear drum?"
"Sorry! But can you believe it?"
"Yes, I can. You're amazing!"
"Come over! I have to call Maris!"
"I'll be right there." I hang up with him immediately and dial Maris's number.
"Summers! Long time no speak!" She states.
"I got into a musical!"
"Really? You've always wanted to do one! Congrats babe!"
"How have you been?"
"Fantastic! What about you? You like totally vanished."
"A lot of stuff happened, most of them were horrible. But I have a boyfriend!"
"Is it the hot imbecile you told me about a few months ago?"
"Yes, and he's not an imbecile Maris. You have the hot part right though."
"You go girl!" I hear the doorbell ring and tell Maris I have to go. "Send me a picture of you and Mr. Hottie."
"Will do. Bye babe!" I hang up and open the door to be picked up and twirled in the air.
I crash my lips onto his and smile against them.
"Say it." He whispers. I know automatically what he means.
"You were right." He starts laughing and brings me into the living room, throwing me onto the couch and straddling me.
"I told you they would love you." Before he can move from his spot, I pull out my phone and hold my arm out to the side so I can get a picture of us. He sees it out of the corner of his eye and kisses me as I press the camera button. Then he looks right at the camera and smiles, causing me to smile.
"You're cute." I say as I pull the phone back and send the pictures to Maris.
"You know what this means?"
"What?"
"I get to hear you sing more!" He says in a sing-song tone. I smile and giggle to myself, throwing my arms around his neck.
"That's going to be a sight for sore eyes. The bad boy attending the school musical." Just as I say that my phone goes off.
Dude... Are you kidding me... That is your boyfriend?! HE'S SO HOT OMG IGJTXFSJRHITBOGKU WHAAAAAA THAT KISSING PIC IS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE!!!! YOU TWO ARE SO CUTE.
Just as I'm typing back, I get another message.
I think a certain brother of mine is jealous ;)
"Who are you texting?" Ashton asks.
"My friend, Maris. She thinks your hot."
"I only care about what you think."
"You're gorgeous!" I say in a girly voice, kissing him again.
Finally, a weekend with no worries.
