Jay
Thinking over the past week, I make the rash decision to go to school. After waking up at 5 a.m., getting dressed, putting my make-up on and eating breakfast, I call Ashton.
"Hello?" He answers with a groggy voice. I think I woke him up.
Even half asleep his deep voice sounds gorgeous.
"Did I wake you up?"
"No, no I couldn't sleep."
Liar.
"I'm sorry, Ashton."
"Stop saying you're sorry! You have nothing to be sorry about. Now, what's going on, are you alright?"
"Yes. Actually that's why I'm calling. I'm going to school today."
"What? I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly. Jay Summers will be attending High School? Has the world stopped spinning or something?" I giggle to myself but then ask the question I need to know the answer to.
"Can you go with me? I know you weren't planning on going, but I was just wondering."
"When were you planning on leaving?" He asks as I look at my alarm clock to see the current time of 6:27 a.m.
"In about a half an hour."
"In that case, I'll pick you up in a half an hour."
"R-really?"
"Yeah. I'll see you then." And with that, he hangs up the phone.
I just woke the guy up and he's coming to pick me up to go to school with me? Whoa.
I sit on my bed, sort of stunned at the fact that he just dropped everything for me, and look into my mirror. Does he see something in me that I don't? Does he see promise? Does he see the sun where I see nothing but darkness?
Before I know it, a half an hour passes and there is a knock at my bedroom window. I open it and let him in, smiling at him.
"Why didn't you ring the doorbell?"
"I didn't know if Lisa was at work or not. I didn't want to wake her. How are you feeling? You took a nasty fall yesterday."
Yeah, I totally forgot who you were and was asking for my dead mother.
"I'm fine."
"Let me see." He says, reaching for my head and tilting it down slightly to see if the cut that I received yesterday healed at all. "It looks better. Are you sure you're up to this?"
"Yes, Ashton. I need to start living as normal of a life as I can." He smiles at me, grabs my purse off of my bed and gestures me to my window. I hop out, followed by Ashton and watch as he closes the window tightly. His arms are well defined and I can see the muscles in his back through his shirt. As he turns around to look at me, I see Ashton's expression completely change. I stand upright and feel self conscious.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing." He states, walking past me to his car. As he walks ahead of me I hear him mumble "Absolutely nothing."
He opens the passenger side door as I form a slight smirk. Once he closes the door, he slides over the hood of the car only to fall off of the edge and land on the street. I start laughing hysterically and open my door, peaking over the hood and looking at him standing up and dusting himself off.
"Do yourself a favor and stop trying to be cool!" I say, laughing. He looks at me with an angry yet soft expression, so I place a hand over my mouth, but continue to laugh.
