Juliet
"Good Morning everyone, it is nine o'clock on this lovely Thursday morning and we are here with the beautifully talented Juliet Summers." The host of the Talk Show states, looking into one of the many cameras that surround us. When she says my name, the crew and the rest of the hosts start applauding, causing me to blush.
"Thank you!" I say, smiling. Feeling shy all of a sudden, I move my hair in-front of my shoulders and smile to myself.
"So, Juliet, how does it feel to have your album at number one in more than seventy countries?" She asks, starting the interview.
Whoa.
"It feels amazing! I never thought that my music would get this far."
"Would you say it's a dream come true to have so many people looking up to you and loving your music?"
"It's definitely a dream come true. I've been singing ever since I was a little girl so it's great to have people listening to my work and giving positive feed back."
"Now, you're twenty-three, correct?"
"Yes I am."
"So being twenty-three years old, beautiful, talented and smart on-top of it all, you must have many male suitors out there trying to get your attention, am I right?"
"Well... Um..."
Don't think about Ashton, don't think about Ashton.
"I actually am not looking for a relationship right now." I say, trying to keep my mourning about Ashton on the down low.
"Really? Have you been in any relationships since you started performing?" She asks.
"I've been in a few but in this business, you don't know if someone really likes you for you or for who you are, you know what I mean?"
"Absolutely. It's hard to tell if they like you for you or your money."
"It doesn't have to be money wise. It can be popularity or private access or anything that they want. It's just hard to find a flower in a drought." I say, thinking on my feet.
"Now, when is your next concert in New York?" The host asks, changing topics.
"Next month. Actually it's a month from today."
"That's very exciting. Have you been to every state yet?"
"Not yet." I say, giggling. "But I'm getting pretty close."
"Well, you are a phenomenal young lady, Juliet. Best of luck to you."
"Thank you so much!"
"We'll be right back with the weather after a word from our sponsors." The host says. I look to the camera man who holds up three fingers, then two and then one. When the hand goes down, the host turns to me and shakes my hand. "Can I tell you how much my daughters love you?"
"Aww that's so sweet!" I reply.
"Could you sign something for them really fast?" She asks.
"Of course." She smiles at me and the runs to get her purse. She comes back with a piece of paper and a pen. "What are their names?"
"Cassandra and Lucy." She replies. I quickly write down two autographs and give the paper back to her. "I'm so sorry for your loss, by the way."
I'm caught off guard by her comment and look to the floor. I wish he was next to me.
"Thank you." I say, looking up at her sympathetically. She brings me into an embrace and let's go when the camera man calls thirty seconds until they are back on the air.
I quickly run off of the set and backstage to be greeted by Josh and Maris.
"What's next?" I ask Josh.
"We're done for the day. However, I am not letting you out of my sight. I'm not having you run off to another state again." Josh snickers.
"We told you why we went to LA, Josh, don't throw all of the trust you have for us out the window." Maris says, standing up for me.
"I understand why you went. Just let me in on the plan next time." He replies. "Now, let's blow this popsicle stand."
