Chapter 22

"Thanks for staying all weekend." Taehyung shyly mumbles as both himself and Hoseok sit on the couch while watching soppy romcoms. They weren't the type of movies Hoseok would be caught dead watching but for Taehyung, he'll suffer through it.

The elder was shoving a handful of popcorn into his mouth when the younger had said that, resulting in Hoseok answering back with a mouthful. "It's okay!" He awkwardly spoke, a piece of popcorn falling from his lips. Taehyung squeals, "eww! Chew your food!" He giggles, whacking the red head with one of the couch pillows.

They both begin to laugh, losing focus on the movie in front of them as they quieten back down. Taehyung had finally opened up to Hoseok about Namjoon. He told him everything that morning when they both woke up.

After talking about it, Taehyung felt better though his heart still hurts from not only being rejected once, but twice. Maybe he was too good at falling for people who don't want him so he just hurts himself at the end of the day.

Just then, stomping footsteps come clomping down the stairs as a fully dressed Yoongi appears in the hallway. Both Taehyung and Hoseok glance over at him with curious stares while Yeontan begins to bark and jump around Yoongi's legs in excitement. "Where're you going?" Taehyung voices his thoughts as Yoongi places on his shoes that sat by the front door.

"Out." He simply murmurs, not sparing the pair a single glance. Hoseok felt an odd heavy weight settle over his chest when Yoongi walks out, slamming the door in the process. "Jeez, someone's super moody today." Taehyung grumbles, used to his brother acting this way as he returns his gaze back to the TV.

Little Yeontan jumps up onto his owner's lap, cuddling in as Taehyung begins to clap the young pup, completely unaware of his best friend's current dilemma.

The boys decide to walk Yeontan later that day since it was sunny outside. The young pup was practically bouncing around when Taehyung placed the lead onto the dog, after having a 10 minute struggle to get Yeontan to calm down enough.

They decide on just taking a stroll around the neighbourhood and stop off by a nearby park that had an enormous grassy bit for dogs to play on.

Hoseok was busy talking to Taehyung about some of the things that he had missed out on at school while he was having his 'moping session' when a familiar figure appears in front of them.

"Fancy seeing you two here. What's this? You on a date?" Jungkook chuckles, causing his group of jock buddies to join in.

Taehyung immediately cowers behind Hoseok, hating how easy it is to run into Jungkook. He managed to scoop Yeontan up in the process, cuddling into the small puppy who was quietly whimpering. Hoseok on the other hand, had his gaze fixated on a certain Park Jimin who stood at the very back of his group of friends. The red head almost completely forgot that Jimin and Jungkook are best friends which made Hoseok frown.

"Not saying anything?" Jungkook continues to taunt them, wanting to get a rise out of Hoseok. The elder of the two, switches his stare from Jimin to Jungkook with a glare. "Fuck off and leave us alone!" He sneers, wanting the brunette boy to disappear from his sight. He couldn't stand him and it was known that the feeling was mutual so why bother each other?

"Where would be the fun in that?" The sophomore questions as he edges closer to Taehyung. The grey haired boy panics, holding onto the back of Hoseok's black tee for dear life when Jungkook's face is right in front of his. "Hmm," the younger hums before moving back with a smirk. "Yup! Still ugly!" He snickers, making all his friends except Jimin cackle with laughter.

Hoseok had enough as he steps forward and grabs Jungkook by the throat. "Didn't I tell you not to speak to him again!!" He hisses. Taehyung immediately fears for his friend as he might do something bad. "Hobi it's okay!" He squeaks out, attempting to get Hoseok's hand off of Jungkook. This surprised the brunette. He didn't think Taehyung would even bother to intervene since he basically left him heart broken.
