Tyler's POV

So, our last show of this tour was last night and we arrived back to Columbus, about an hour ago. If you are wondering, yes, I do miss Ruby already. Even though it has only been an hour. So what. It's going to be weird not living on the tour bus with Josh, Mark, and Ruby. But hey, more time to actually start to take things to the next level with Ruby.

Our first date is tonight and I am so nervous. It's literally in like 3 hours. I keep telling myself to remember that it is just Ruby, my best friend of 9 years. But I'm still nervous... because it's her. My dream girl. I can't mess this up.

"We are so glad you're back. We've missed you!" My mom said.

"I missed you guys too, a lot. Hey, guess what happens tonight?" I said to my family, fully aware that they had no clue.

"What happens tonight?" My dad questioned.

"Tonight, I am taking Ruby out on our first date." I proudly smiled.

"WHAT DUDE, FINALLY!" Jay said, man hugging me.

"Seriously, bro. It's about time you got the balls to ask her!" Zack high fived me.

"YAY! Now, Ruby can actually be my sister." Maddy cheered, high fiving Zack also.

"Honey, I am so proud of you. You've been waiting for this for awhile now." My mom said, rubbing my back as I sat on the couch next to my dad.

"I know, I am so excited to finally be able to be hers. If that makes sense," I said and shrugged to myself.

"It makes sense. So, have you guys talked about this and she said she liked you too or what?" My dad said, flipping through the channels on the TV in front of him.

"Well, I kind of just kissed her out of nowhere. I thought she rejected me, but she didn't. So then she kissed me out of nowhere. Then we said, 'hey let's try this.' And then two days passed with nothing. So she spoke up about it, asking what was going on. And I told her I was just nervous and I didn't want to push things too fast, then we kissed.. a bunch. And now I get to take her on an official date. She's my date. I still can't believe it, to be honest." I said, smiling the whole through. Especially when I talked about the kissing, I could almost feel her soft lips lingering on mine.

"Son, that's great. But definitely don't push things too fast. She needs to get used to you being a potential boyfriend instead of her best friend." My dad said. My whole family nodded in agreeance.

"But, also, like don't go too slow. Or she'll get bored. I know I would. Kiss her a lot, compliment her a lot, touch her differently than you usually do... but not in an inappropriate way, if you know what I mean." Maddy said, looking at her phone.

"Yeah, because you guys are already touchy feely. So, you gotta be smooth with your moves. Let her know they aren't just friendship moves, but future boyfriend or husband moves." Jay said, watching basketball that was now on the screen.

"Guys, let him do what he wants! He knows Ruby more than any of us do. He knows what she would be wanting, right honey?" My mom said, looking at me with a big smile. I know she's been waiting for this for awhile now. She LOVES Ruby. Adores her.

"Yes, Mom. I'm just nervous, but that'll go away." I said

"So, what are you taking her to do tonight?" Zack asked.

"I was thinking a movie and dinner. She's been wanting to see that movie Inside Out, she loves cartoons. So we are going to see that and then maybe going to the hibachi place, because she loves the shrimp there. And if she stills wants more of Tyler Joseph, we'll get some Froyo." I said, joking at the last part.
