i woke up smelling the smell of eggs. i got out of bed and put on my ripped jeans and one of sodas shirt i found on the ground. i brushed my hair, put on my shoes, got my backpack and went into the kitchen. i saw johnny, soda, and darry already eating. i joined in and ate with them.
"ponyboy! hurry up your eggs are getting cold!" darry yelled. pony ran into the kitchen and started to quickly eat his eggs. "i shaved my beard this morning and all the girls will get all over me!" pony smiled. i laughed and so did everyone.
johnny and i were waiting for ponyboy outside. johnny started to light up his cigarette and started smoking. "wanna try? johnny asked. "sure." i got his cigarette.
"thanks." i said giving his cigarette back, we then saw pony finally coming out of the house. "let's go?" pony asked. we started to walk to school but we made a quick stop to the liquor store.
i got a beer and some chips and waited outside for johnny and pony to hurry up. i then saw a blue mustang pull up in front of me, boys probably sodas age got out of their car and were heading towards me.
"who left this pretty little girl out here on her on her own?" one of them said circling around me. "well that ain't none of your guys business."
"she talks! hey sweetie, why don't you join us in we'll take you to school. if that's where you want to go." one of the guys grabbed my hand and started to take me to his car.
i had to act quick, so i broke my beer bottle and kicked the boys ass. "this girl is wild. let's get her." i then knew i was surrounded by guys. i was going to run off when pony punched one of the guys, and johnny the other. pony grabbed my hand and we all ran away.
"let's head to school." johnny said gasping for air. i noticed ponyboy was bleeding from his lips. "ponyboy? you're bleeding." i told him.
"oh great!" pony sighed. we made it to school, my classes were some with pony and johnny. i never knew that johnny was in my grade, i felt bad but i thought it was cool to see him.
i entered my first period which was language arts. pony and johnny were in that class too so i felt that i wasn't alone. i sat on my desk and waited for class to begin.
"hey." johnny walked towards me. "hi." i said. he and pony sat behind so that meant i had to prepare for them kicking my chair.
"hello class! look like we have a new student! rubi mae curtis, pony's sister i suppose?" the teacher said.
"yup." i said. school was finally over and i was waiting for either pony or johnny to show up. "hiya rubi!" two bit grinned.
"hey two bit! where you heading?" i asked. "probably get drunk or something. you be careful ight?" he said with a serious face. "ight! see ya!" i waved at two bit. great, they're going to treat me like i'm a baby now!
after the incident at the liquor store pony said that the guys that attacked me are socs and we're greasers. he said that some girls are socs too. right away i knew who's who. i noticed that girls were looking at me and whispering.
"hey. rubi right?" a girl dressed nicely asked. "yeah?" "i just wanted to say that you look like a girl that could get pregnant right away." she said and started to laugh.
i got mad right away that i just had to punch her. next thing you know we're on the ground. everyone were surrounding us, two boys tried stopping us but it was no use. pony then grabbed me from my arms and pulled me away.
"you know what? at least my face doesn't look like i've done 10 plastic surgery's on it!" i yelled at her.
pony and johnny were shocked of what happened. we dropped johnny off to his house and pony started saying that i am dead meat when darry finds out i got in a fight on the first day of school.
i went storming inside the house and threw my backpack on the floor. i screamed in my pillow. "what happened in here?" soda came in.
"she got in a fight." pony said. "you snitch!" i yelled at pony. "you what!" soda exclaimed. i noticed he wanted to smile but wanted to be serious.
"yeah i got in a fight! so did ponyboy with socs!" i said. "yeah but it's different because i saved your ass!" pony said. he had a point.
"promise me this. darry won't find out, but you get away from those girls. and no more fights ok?" soda said. "fine."
darry found out that i got in a fight. that girls parents probably called the school, and the school called darry. i got a huge speech! basically i am there baby sister and they won't let me get hurt or in trouble!
i think it was worth it. dally started to congratulate me after what he heard from darry. darry glared at him though. i went to the room and put a song on. i love my family and the gang. i believe and know that this'll be a hell of an adventure.
