it's the day where some girls are excited to be dancing with their lovers and probably losing their virginity. the school dance had arrived and i wasn't very amused bout it.
"if you're not going to the dance it's ok. you can be with me and we can play something or something." soda said smiling. he made me smile because his smile can make anyone smile and it is impossible to not smile when you are around him.
"i'll be home early if i don't go. if i come home with pony that means i stayed." i said still hoping johnny will take me to the dance.
"well eat up kiddo." darry said giving me chocolate cake and milk. as i ate ponyboy was dresses kinda different. "what the hell happened to you?" i said with a mouth full of cake.
ponyboy's hair was not greased back like it usually was, he looked like a homeless. "i thought it was Saturday." pony said rubbing his eye. "boy is that how you look on Saturday's?" darry asked.
soda started to laugh and took pony inside the room. "WHAT TODAY IS THE DANCE?" pony yelled. darry and i laughed and continued to eat cake.
i waited for ponyboy to finish eating but it took a while because i heard darry giving him a speech to be careful and to watch me if i go to the dance. "you ready?" pony said getting out of the house. i nodded and we continued to walk. we met johnny at the park and we all walked together like every other day.
the walk to school was silent as hell. when we got to our, cherry or sherri walked up to pony. "here." she said giving him a note and walked away. he turned red, johnny and i laughed at him. i opened my locker and a ticket and note fell out of my locker.
i quickly grabbed it and went inside my classroom. i put the ticket and the note on my desk. i opened the note and read it carefully;
i know you must be thinking why i put a ticket in your locker. will i just want you to enjoy this night with me. you must be wondering who the hell is riting this will youll find out who it is. meet me inside the jym and ill find you and ill explain why i wanted to dance with you.

there was some mistakes in it but i wonder who it's from.
school was over and everyone was heading to the gym. i gave my ticket to one of the staff and went inside the gym. there was always that one couple making out or either fighting.
i was waiting for the person who wrote me the note. "dance rubi!" pony yelled. i stood up and started to dance with him and cherry. it was actually pretty fun.
then a slow song came on. i sat down and was looking for my secret guy. i looked down at my converse, then someone came up to me.
"please go away." i mumbled. "weren't you waiting for me?" a familiar voice said. i looked up and it was...dally!
"it was you?" i asked as i stood up. "yeah and i'm here to explain." he said scratching his neck. i looked at him waiting for him to explain.
"rubi, a girl like you are hard to find. pony told me that you wanted to find me and rescue me. he said that you seemed real worried bout me. when i was with the socs i heard abigail say that you cut her and accused that if the socs hurt me you'll hurt them no matter what. i felt that you changed me and my character. i am still same ol' dally but with feelings. my feelings bout you been goin' all over the place. and i have come to realize that i like you."
oh shit. did he just say he liked me? "you do?" i stuttered. "yeah. but i understand that if you don't want to be with me it's ok." dally said.
i then saw johnny. he actually came! dally or johnny? what the hell! "dally can you get me some punch?" i said stuttering. "yeah!" dally said leaving.
johnny was walking towards me, fuck! i tried to run or at least hide but it was no use. "hey rubi." johnny said. "hey!" i replied. it was so awkward that i just wanted to go home!
"i saw you with someone does pony know?" he asked. shit! oh my gosh, what if pony sees me dancing with dally! oh my. "i don't know if he knows." i said stuttering.
i just realized that johnny was here! he was actually at the dance! "so why are you here?" i asked johnny with curiosity. "i actually um...took someone to the dance." he said.
"i thought we weren't coming. who'd you take anyway?" i asked. he looked at me and said, "i came here with marcia." marcia, cherry's friend. "oh ok. well i got to go." i said with a fake smile and left
"hey what's wrong?" dally said giving me the punch. "let's go home." i said. i quickly told pony that i would be going home and he said to be careful.
dally took me home safe and sound. "hope you feelin' better rubi." dally said. i gave him a hug and went inside. i tried so hard not to cry, johnny is dancing with marcia, dally likes me. why so many damn problems?
