i woke up quite early than i usually do. i wore my favorite red sweater and my jeans. i walked into the kitchen to eat some chocolate cake and get heading to school. i wrote a note so darry, soda or pony know where i went, i left it on the table and headed out the house.
"hey there sweets!" johnny hugged me from behind and messed up my hair. "hiya johnny!" we both walked into the diner and waited for the waitress to come and attend us.
"before we head to school i have a plan." johnny grinned. "what's your plan babe?" johnny blushed and scratched his neck. he then took out a camera, it was so beautiful that it made me wonder if he actually bought it.
"you bought this?" i softly yelled with excitement. "well i actually didn't, more like stole i guess?" johnny said and quickly shut up when the waiter came to attend us.
"what would you two like?" the waiter asked us. "two strawberry milkshakes and fries please?" johnny told him, the waiter left and johnny continued to talk. "anyway, i was planning that we should take pictures of us or anything and keep them as a memory."
"that sounds amazing johnny. i'm down." i said and smiled. i drank my milkshake and started to dance. "sweets what are you doing?" johnny said laughing. johnny then got his camera and took a picture of me.
we walked out of the diner talking and laughing. "rubi? stand over there and jump." johnny said gently pushing me in front of him. "this is so awkward!" i smiled and jumped as he told me too. the flash of the camera flashed in my eyes and something happened.
"hey greaser!" a guy with rings on his fingers got out of his car and his friends followed him. "johnny?" i softly whispered.
"run!" johnny said and pushed me. "what! no!" i yelled. next thing i knew i was running, i ran and ran till i saw ponyboy near the liquor store. "pony!" i yelled.
"rubi? are you ok?" pony asked concerned. "johnny...told me...to run...he...socs." i said gasping for air.
pony grabbed my hand and we ran as fast as we can to go check johnny. we then saw johnny whimpering on the ground by himself. "johnny!" pony yelled and bent down. "is...rubi...okay?" johnny softly told pony. "i'm right here johnny. right here, ok?" i said moving my hair to the side.

we obviously missed school that day. i stayed with my friend my only best friend. johnny. he was asleep and i watched him, not only cause i had to but wanted to. "hey y'all!" two bit yelled. "mickey! shut up!" i softly yelled and pointed at sleepy johnny.
"oh sorry there." two loudly whispered and turned on the tv. "where's steve?" i asked two bit. "he's working with soda and darry." right, i forgot that they all work together.
"pony?" i asked entering the room. "yeah rubi?" i looked at pony and thought are we going to be in trouble? "no we're not going to get in trouble rubi." pony said.
"shit. did i say that out loud?" i said in embarrassment. "no. i could just tell by the expression of your face that's all." pony laughed as i threw him the pillow.
as i was leaving the room ponyboy stopped me. "next time we're all walking together okay?" pony looked at me serious and i knew he wasn't joking around. "yeah ok." i said.
i saw johnny waking up so i quickly got chocolate cake, got two spoons and jumped on the couch. "oh! yes!" two bit yelled and took a piece. "hey!" i laughed.
"here you go sleeping beauty." i grinned while johnny stretched and got a spoonful of cake. "i'm glad you are ok." johnny told me with a smile on his face. i noticed he got a black eye but nothing changed his puppy face.
"next time johnny, i am going to stay with you cause i ain't going to let them socs hurt you anymore ight?" i told him. i was serious i can't stand fights or anyone get hurt.
"anything for you." johnny softly smiled, he gently touched my cheek and went back eating the cake and watching mickey mouse.
feelings are stupid. the way johnny is treating me is confusing my feelings, and i hate it. he is my only best friend and i don't want my stupid feelings getting in the way right now. he is cute, funny and generous though.
"guys i was wondering that on Saturday night we should have a party!" pony said out of nowhere. i didn't pay attention, i was to busy figuring out how to control my feelings so they won't get out of control.
