a week has gone by and pony, two bit, johnny, and i all went to the diner just to hang out and drink milkshakes. "And can i have a cheeseburger, medium fries, and a strawberry milkshake?" johnny said.
"you're going to that damn thing?" two bit yelled as the waiter brought his cheeseburger. "yeah so?" johnny said with a mouthful of food.
"they taste like shit! last time i tried one i threw up after! it ain't good!" two bit said slamming the table. we all laughed at him and continued to drink our milkshakes.
"as i was saying." two bit cleared his voice. "do we have to watch a goddam movie after this?" "yeah! i know i hate going to movies with people but i want to try this time!" pony said with a grin on his face.
"oh shut it. you just want to go to the movies to see this one girl!" i said giggling. pony turned red and two bit raised one of his eyebrows and johnny was just sipping his milkshake.
"what no!" pony softly yelled. "sure." i said taking a fry away from johnny.
"you owe me a fry!" johnny softly yelled while i was laughing. when we finished we were heading to the Nightly Double. "so who's going to pay?" two bit said.
we all looked at each other, we didn't have money to pay for every one of us. we walked back home because there was nothing else to do.
before we arrived we saw the socs car, we noticed they kicked someone out of their car, like literally pushing the person out. the car went away, and the person on the ground was groaning.
we all finally noticed that it was dally! my heart was beating so fast that i ran to him. dally stood up and saw me running. i ran and hugged him.
"dally!" i said. i didn't let go, i was sure that he got killed or at least somewhere else. "i was worried that you were gone!"
"you don't have to worry bout me. i was worried bout you." dally said hugging me back. we stopped hugging i turned around to see ponyboy, two bit and johnny. when i saw johnny's face he was happy but his eyes didn't seem the same.
"glad you're back dally!" two bit yelled. "super glad, you ok though?" pony asked. "i'll explain everything when we go inside your house." dally softly said.
everyone started walking in front of me, except johnny, he was behind me. "rubi?" johnny asked. i turned around to hear what he was going to say, "glad he's back." johnny said in a tone that wasn't very happy.
he walked away and i stood there confused about what was happening to him. i continued to walk to my house.
"i got shot." dally said telling everyone. that's why i heard the gun shot. "how are you ok now?" darry asked.
"i escaped and one of my friends helped me. i wasn't going to a goddamn hospital." dally said. "i tried leaving today but the socs caught me, i told them that if they kill me they'll regret it and will regret hurting rubi. i promised them that rubi will not hurt bobs girlfriend, abigail."
i knew it. at least it there's now a reason not to hurt her anymore. "rubi? you heard right?" darry asked me. i looked at dally and johnny, dally doesn't look like violent dally anymore, it's like he's changed.
johnny well he was kind of ignoring me. "yeah, i heard." i said still looking at johnny. as everyone left, johnny had stayed for a while.
"ight. bye guys!" johnny waved. as he was leaving and went with him. "johnny wait! are you mad at me?" i asked.
he looked at me and grabbed my hand. "no sweets i ain't mad." johnny said moving a strand of my hair to my ear. i moved my head from his hand, "are you sure cause it seems like it."
he looked at me, he took me to the park. we laid on the grass looking at the sky. "why are ignoring me and my question?" i asked him.
"i'm not i just-when i see you, you seem happy with dally. i-i just don't want our friendship to end." johnny said turning his head.
"our friendship won't end!" i told him. i put my head on his chest, he wrapped his arm on me and we both fell asleep. i think... i like johnny.
he's a wonderful guy. oh what is happening to my dumbass. i woke seeing a sleepy puppy. "hey wake up." i whispered to him.
he opened his eyes and smiled. he kissed my forehead and made both of us stand up. "let's go before pony kicks our ass again." johnny laughed.
johnny held my hand, and i held his. we walked like that the whole way home.
