Rule and Sweet Pea had gone home after that, Rule telling him she'd show him the second surprise tomorrow. So after detention, Weatherbee had let them off rather lightly for skipping, Sweet Pea drove Rule home to change clothes. A black crop top, black ankle boots, some acid wash short overalls, and a ponytail later, Rule rushed back out to her truck and told Sweet Pea to scoot over so she could drive. "Where are we going?" Rule smirks, refusing to answer his question, even when he slides his hand up her bare thigh. "Ow!" Rule slaps his hand away, jerking the steering wheel so the cars back on the road. "It's a surprise, now stop distracting me before we hit a pole!" Sweet Pea crosses his arms like a little kid and scowls, Rule rolling her eyes and placing his hand back on her thigh, a smile appearing on his lips.
The drive was a little over a twenty minutes all together to the north side, in one of the more run down areas but still rather nice, Rule pulling into an empty gravel driveway. The empty ranch house was painted white, a few cracks in two of the windows out front, and the grass probably hadn't been mowed in months. A sold sign sat in the front yard of the two bedroom and two bathroom house with a basement, Rule grinning at Sweet Pea and jumping out of the truck wordlessly. "Wha- Angel! Where the hell are you going?" Motioning for him to follow her, Rule unlocked the house and pushed open the front door. "Who's house is this?" Spinning around to face Sweet Pea, Rule grinned and threw her arms out. "Well, it's ours now!"
..............
Sweet Peas reaction was mostly surprise, something Rule had anticipated. After explaining that she'd bought it, knowing it needed a little work, with the money her parents had left her. Rule wouldn't have any of that money left when they finished repairing and furnishing it, but she figured she could just get a job. She'd bought it a little over three weeks ago when everyone got their eviction notices, thinking she at least wanted a back up. There was evidence of work being done on the house, the smell of fresh paint lingering in the air and brand new carpet on the ground. "Uh, you know this is the time you usually should speak right?" Rule had grown a tiny bit scared as Sweet Pea wordlessly toured the house, coming to a complete stop in front of the master bedroom, the walls painted a light grey. "Okay," Sweet Pea smiled down at Rule, taking her hand in his "we already live together, it would just be closer to school here."
"You aren't mad that I didn't talk to you about it first?" Rule was slightly incredulous, gazing at Sweet Pea as if he was an alien. "No, I love it and I love you, so let's do this." With the biggest grin she's ever wore, Rule wiggled the credit card that had been in her pocket. "Then I suppose it's time to go shopping, and talk to Mr. Andrews about what we wan-" Sweet Pea cut her off by slamming his lips on hers, lifting Rule up by her curvy hips. Her hands snake up around his neck, wrapping her legs around him and curling her fingers into his hair, tugging on the strands. Smirking into the kiss, Sweet Pea carried Rule further into the bedroom and placed her on the rickety bed. Pulling back from the kiss, Sweet Pea smiled down at Rule.
"Maybe we should initiate our new house,"

"Wow, I think this house makes the sex even better." Rule laughed at Sweet Peas assessment as he buttoned up his flannel, winking at her with an undeniable smirk. "Mmm, with me? Better isn't possible Daddy." Rule slaps Sweet Pea on the rear, sprinting out of the house while he chased her. A squeal escapes her when Sweet Pea lifts Rule up from behind, twirling her in a circle and rumbling a deep laugh. "We need to go shopping," Sweet Pea groans, allowing Rule to tug him to their slightly rusted greenish blue truck. A few hours of shopping, and a very bitchy couple, later the two make their way back to their new house and unpack the stuff they just bought.
"Woah, who knew you had such an eye for decorating?" Rule looks at Sweet Pea, who had single handedly picked out everything for the the living room, basement, garage, and bathrooms. The bedrooms they picked out together, Rule picking out the kitchen herself. "Hell, I didn't even know I did." The kitchen was done in burnt orange, steel grey, and metals. The living room, a very dark turquoise and a little mustard yellow, sleek white furniture. The basement was full of comfy beiges and browns, one bathroom being grey with red accents and the other plum with silver accents. The guest bedroom was white, with purple and grey accents. But their favorite place was the master bedroom, painted grey with some emerald green accents, their shared favorite color.
"Fangs said he'd pick up the keys for the trailer tonight," Sweet Pea had said a day later when they were finishing packing up their clothes and necessities. "Well, at least we can leave all the old furniture here since he'll use it." Sweet Pea nodded in agreeance at Rules statement, carrying the last box to the truck. Rule stood outside, looking up at her childhood home, and was surprised to feel happy instead of sad. "You okay Angel?" Sweet Pea wrapped an arm around her shoulders, placing a kiss on Rules head. "Surprisingly yeah," Rule tilts her head up to smile at him "I can't wait to have a house that's really ours. And I know my parents would be happy too." Rule meant every single word said as they climbed into the truck, surprising herself by not looking back even once.
