"Dude, I should totally dress in 70's outfits all the time." Rule looked in the dressing room mirror, Sweet Pea nodding in appreciation from the swivel chair behind her. High waisted bell bottom jeans, chunky black heels, black hair curled back, and a dark red multicolor crop top that tied between her breasts. Rule was fairly certain her outfit isn't what a gym teacher would wear, but she was glad as long as no leg warmers were involved. "Oh, those jeans make your ass look great," Toni slapped Rule on the ass in a friendly manner, laughing when she jumped. "Hey," the girls looked over at Sweet Pea "hands off my girlfriends ass. That's my job," Rules ears grew hot when Sweet Pea winked at her, Fangs appearing in the doorway and motioning for him to come. Sweet Pea turned around, one hand behind his back, and walked closer to Rule before showing her what was in his hand. A bouquet of purple flowers tied with burlap, their name being-
"Sweet Peas," Rule giggled with tiny tears in her eyes "they're beautiful, I love them, and I love you." Grabbing his face and standing on her tiptoes, Rule looked deep into his sparkling green eyes and placed her lips on his, moving them in slow and deep motions and trying to ignore the awe's around them. "Rule, as adorable as you both are, he's ruining your makeup and we're all about to go on stage, please remove your hands from the merchandise." Kissing him one last time, Rule ran towards the curtains, waiting for her cue, Kevin practically shoving her out onto the stage.
"You ain't seen nothing yet
It's gonna be a night we'll never forget -"
Oh just how accurate those words would be.

Rule squeezed Sweet Peas hand as they sat in the audience, her part of the musical done with. "You two are adorable," Rule looked at a slightly stressed out Kevin "it sickens me." Doing her best not to laugh, Rule focused her gaze back onto the stage where Midge should've been making her appearance any second. "You were amazing," Rule looked up into Sweet Peas eyes, the stage lights dancing inside of them, and glanced at the purple sweet pea she'd placed behind his ear, just like the one he put behind hers. Reaching up, Rule twirled the curl that fell on Sweet Peas forehead, the one she loved oh so much, when something, Kevin's gasp, told her to look at the stage.
"Oh my go- Midge!"
Rules scream seemed to put everyone in motion as she ran toward her friends body, basically hurtling onto the stage. Without thinking, Rule put two fingers to Midges neck, frantically feeling for a pulse and not realizing blood was staining her hands and clothes. It felt like a hundred pairs of eyes awaited Rule as she turned around, tears staining her sullen cheeks while she shook her head. Sweet Pea walked across the stage, picking up his blood soaked girlfriend and carried her outside, everyone watching. Rule was silent as Sweet Pea strapped her into the passenger seat, driving the two of them home and worriedly glancing at her every few seconds.
She'd seen death. Hell, her parents had been shot in front of her. But there was something about this death, the death of an innocent, the death of a friend, that irked her. Midge had been one of the few people that'd accepted Rule from the beginning. Were they best friends? No. But had they been rather close? Yes. So they didn't hang out all the time, but they trust one another. Correction- Trusted.
Rule could hear her truck door open, but made no effort to move, instead allowing Sweet Pea to carry her into the house and directly to their bathroom. She watched limply as he turned on the shower, gently helping her out of her bloodied costume. It was different than a sexual undressing, this one tender and soft, his eyes clouded over with worry. Sweet Pea picked up Rules naked body, placing her in the shower and gently cleaning off Midge's blood, not caring that he was drenched from head to toe in water. "It should've been me," Sweet Pea snapped his eyes up to Rules, her green eyes focused on him. "Wha-"
"Kevin offered me the part of Carrie," The words left a bitter aftertaste in Rules mouth, Sweet Peas eyes holding a reflection of understanding. "But I told him that Midge should play the part. I was the one who put her in that part. It's my fault she's dead Sweets," Sweet Pea flipped off the water, wrapping a towel around Rules clean body. "It's not your fault, it's the black hoods." Rule forgot about that detail, about how the man killed before her somehow resurrected himself. "Is he really back?" Rule was unfazed when Sweet Pea stripped of his clothes, well mostly unfazed, instead continuing to dry off her body. Tossing her wet hair up in a bun, Rule slipped on her black silk robe, Sweet Peas towel hanging loosely from his hips. Rule threw her clothes in the trash and Sweet Peas in the dirty pile of laundry, the pair quietly slipping on pajamas. Well, more like, one of Sweet Peas shirts for Rule and a pair of sweatpants for a shirtless Sweets.
Swiping the largest bottle of tequila from the cupboard, Sweet Pea and Rule took turns drinking from the bottle, their bodies tangled and pressed as close as they could be under the covers as if the mere touch of the others skin could solve every problem in the world. And for them, it did. It wasn't until then that Sweet Pea finally answered Rules earth shattering question. "I don't know angel, but for his sake, I hope not." Rule furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, looking up at Sweet Pea as he took a swig from the tequila bottle. "Why?" Smiling down at Rule, he leaned down as if getting ready to reveal a secret.
"Because if he comes within two feet of you, there'll be hell to pay."
A/N - You better believe I got some strong ass Greys Anatomy vibes when I listened to this song.
