"You're staring at me for too long and I think it's fuckin' creepy now!" Hollie beamed in her British accent as she sips the lime. Her face distorted adorably, she threw the lime on the table and looked at me weirdly. "What is your problem tonight?"
"Nothing, Hollie." I shook my head.
"Nothing? That's why you invited me over a drink? You're not really into this..." she pointed her bottle of beer and take a drink on it before she continues. "Come on, tell me. Is it your ex husband?" she mocked.
"Husband." I laughed at it. "He just gave me rings of fidelity and... a wedding ring, I guess?" I pouted my lips and look at the rings on my finger. "A fake one."
Masama pa rin ang loob ko, hindi ko maitanggi sa sarili iyon ngayon lalo. Nakakainis kasi ang tusok pa rin sa puso ko ang lahat ng nangyari, lahat ng pagsasama namin at pag-uusap noon ay nanunumbalik sa akin na tila kahapon lang. Bakit ganoon, Primo? Anong ginawa mo sa akin at nagkakaganito pa rin ako hanggang ngayon? Am I too in love or just insecure about everything you have now without me?
She gasped.
"Hmm, how did you say so? You told me stories about your relationship, you've gone too far together! One year courtship isn't a joke, and I kinda love how you appreciate him as your boyfriend while remembering your relationship even when it's already done."
Bumuntong hininga ako at nanatili ang tingin sa mga singsing, hindi ko sinusuot ito kapag lumalabas ng kuwarto simula pa noong manirahan kami rito pero bago matulog ay sinusuot ko iyon. My nose tightened in sudden emotion that I needed to scrunch my nose and hid it.
"In Philippines, it was a normal thing to do the courtship when you like someone, so it's not really special. Maybe it'd be special here since men aren't really doing that here, only dating-"
"Yah, and hook ups." she laughed. "But I think you're really drowned in your first in everything, 'till now. I was really surprised to know that you've had your first sex at 19!"
Natawa ako at hindi napigilan ang init ng mukha. Hindi talaga siya naniniwala sa akin noon, wala akong intensyong ibahagi ang karanasan na iyon pero naglaro kasi kami ng truth or dare habang nag-iinuman. Kaming dalawa lang naman noon kaya siya lang ang nakakaalam, hindi ko pa rin nasabi kay Maysie iyon dahil nahihiya ako kahit matalik na kaibigan ko rin siya.
"Seriously? Your man must've been thirsty for it while you're in a relationship back then." she added.
My man is now a man of someone else, someone who shares the same page and place with him. Someone who's beyond from Loraes he had...
I gasped. "He still waited for me to give in, though. He didn't force me and I don't regret it 'coz I was in loved with him."
"You're always talking past tense, Sovie. If I know you're still into him even having Kaito!"
"Hollie! Kaito is just a friend!" I exclaimed.
She waves her hand and flew a kiss, her sharp eyes digged into me.
"Okay, before Kaito topic. Let's get to the topic about Kiel first to enlighten my mind! What's your problem? Tell me or I'll dare you say no challenge."
Suminghap ako at natawa roon, sinimsiman ko ang bote ng beer habang tumatango. She squeals as she put her both thighs up to the sofa and indian sit while looking at me with excitement. Binaba ko ang bote sa lamesa at tiningnan siya, sandali lang nagtagal iyon ay napayuko na ako.
"I heard news about him..." I told quietly.
News about him, is it good or bad?
"News 'bout what?"
