“ Alex, w-what’s going on here?” I here a voice say.

I turn around to see my Mom, just staring at Tyler and I. She sees everything. Everything. The sheets of lyrics, the microphone, the headphones, the computer filled with vocal and instrument loops. Just everything.

Tyler and I stare at each other, and he still knows that I can’t tell her, or just anyone.

“ I-uh am just hanging out with Tyler while he records some stuff. I like watching him.”

“ Ya, she’s a great help too.” Tyler says smiling at me.

“ Ok guys, well Alex time to go.”

“ Ok, well bye Tyler.” I say, getting up from a chair.

“ Bye. Thanks for coming over.” he says, smiling.

“ No problem.” I say, smiling back.

My mom and I head upstairs and head outside.

I then stop her from going any further and I just stare at her.

 “ Yes?”

 “ What do you think?!”

 “ Excuse me?”

“ From now on, can you please just text me when you are here?”

 “ But I can’t text.”

“ Well just call me then!”

“ Ok, ok! Geez! Alex calm down! I still feel like you’re hiding something, but if you won’t tell me then I will just will let it go.”

“ Good, because there is nothing that I am hiding ok?” I say, lying straight to her face.

“ Ok, let’s just go home.” she says, looking away from me as we get into the car and drive home.

When I get home, I go into my room and slam the door, and lay on my bed, and start to tear up.

My whole life is a huge lying game right now, and I can’t handle it anymore.

My head is spinning with all the lies that I have told to everyone that I care about.

 Even Tyler.

I open my song book, and turn to the song that was accidentally put into the song pile that I brought to Tyler’s and read the song through about 10 times.

~ Alex ~

I wake up the next day and see that Dylan texted me.

D: Morning, you wanna hang out today? ;)

I smile at the text, knowing that this would be a great distraction from all of the stuff that is going on in my life.

A: Sure :)

D: What time should I pick you up?

 A: In an hour?

 D: Sure :) Cya soon

I get ready to see Dylan, and I open the top drawer to my dresser, and when I close it, something falls.

I bend down to the ground to pick up what fell, and when I realize what it is, I stop for a second to stare at what fell, which is a framed photo of Tyler and I.
