More than just Friends? (A Tyler Ward and Alex G fanfinc)

Chapter 35:

~ Tyler ~ 

 We head back upstairs and sit around the dinning room table, Alex sitting in her same spot, right across from me. 

 Soon the lights dim, but I could still see her face glowing. 

 “HAPPY BIRTHDAAYY, HAPPY BIRTHDAAYY. HAPPY BIRTHDAAY DEAR TYLER, HAPPY BIRTHDAAYY TO YOUU!!!” everyone sings as I see a cake being seat down on the table in front of me. 

 I saw the number 17, which was surrounded by a bunch of light candles. 

“ Alright man, make a wish.” Epic says. 

 “ Make it a good one!” Alex blurts out, smiling at me. 

 I quickly look up to meet her eyes, and smile at her before making my wish. 

 I wish that I could tell Alex how I really feel. I wish that she will like me back. I want her more than anything... There is something about her that just makes me feel things that I can’t even explain...  

“ Hey buddy you made a wish yet?” Greg says, staring at me. 

“ Ya s-sorry.” I say, then close my eyes while I make the wish and blow out the candles.

“ This cake is really good Ms. Ward!” Alex says as my mom walked into the dinning room to check on them. 

“ Thank you! It’s a family recipe.” she says, smiling back.

We continue eating the cake, and after we finish, we end up playing games.

“ Let’s play never have I ever!” Greg says. 

“ Um ok.” I say.  

We sit in a circle on the ground in the living room, and as usual, Alex sits right across from me. 

 The game started and it went well, but then I decided to say something that made my heart pound. 

 “ Um...never have I ever....kissed somebody.” 

 “ Dude you haven’t kissed anyone yet?” Greg says, while putting a finger down. 

 “ No...” 

 I then look over at Alex, and she just stares at me. 

 I obviously expected her to put one of her fingers away, but she didn’t. 

 She hasn’t kissed her boyfriend. 

 And haven’t they been together for months now? That’s kinda weird... 

 We continue to play the game, until the first person was out. 

 It then got pretty late, and Greg and Epic headed out first. 

 “ Cya man. Hope you had a great birthday.” Epic says, while heading out the door. 

 “ Thanks bro.” 

 I then return back to the living room and remember that Alex was still here. She was sitting on the couch, and looked up at me when I returned to the room, and smiled. 

 There is just something about her that makes me feel a certain way... A feeling that I can’t explain... It can’t be described.... She is just so perfect and so beautiful... And tonight she looks amazing... 

 “ Um Tyler?” she says, waving a hand at me. 

 “ S-sorry.” I say, as I walk over to her and sit down on the couch next to her. 

 “ What’s wrong? You have seemed to be out of it a lot. Are you like daydreaming?.” she paused before asking her last question.

 “Or have you just been thinking about something?” 

 That last question got me. 

 I have been thinking about something. 

 And that something is you. 

 “ N-no I’m fine really.” 

 “ Common Tyler, you can tell me.” she says, looking deep into my eyes. 

 I take a deep breath and say, “ I just don’t think I can...not now...” 

 “ But when?” 

 “ When it’s the right time, I will tell you.”

Alex decided to stick around for a bit longer after Epic and Greg left. 

 “ Why did you want to stay longer?” I say, glancing at the clock. 

 “ Oh sorry, was that not ok?” 

 “ N-no! I mean, you could have left with the others...” 

 Wow that came out wrong. 

 “ I uh just wanted to talk with you...just you...” 

 My heart stopped after those words were said. 

 “ Oh ok.” Is all I could get out of me. 

 “ Well I should probably head home, it’s pretty late.” 

 “ Ya...” 

 Alex and I got up from the couch and headed towards the door. 

 “ Well Tyler I hope you had a great birthday.” she said, smiling. 

 I had a great birthday because of you...

 “ Thanks I sure did.” I say. 

 “ Well I’ll cya tomorrow.” she says, opening up the front door, and stepping outside. 

 “ Wait!” I say, walking up to her. 

 “ What?” she says, stopping to turn around, and look deep into my eyes. 

 There were so many things I wanted to tell her right now. I wanted to tell her how I felt whenever she was with me. I wanted to tell her that I have fallen in love with her. 

I pull her in for a hug, and I felt like she was going to keep hugging me, so I break the hug to not make it akward. 

 “ I just want to thank you...for everything.” 

 “ What do you mean?” 

 “ I want to thank you for moving here...for being a part of my life now....and I know that we are just friends, because you have a boyfriend and all..but you are just an amazing friend, and I don’t think I could ever thank you enough for all that you have done for me.” 

 “ Tyler...” 

 “ I mean it!” 

 “ I just don’t know what to say...” 

 “ You don’t have to say anything.” I say, my heart racing. 

 You have know idea how badly I want to kiss her right now. 

 The house lights are shinning down onto her beautiful face, and her chocolate brown eyes were looking right at me, and my heart is racing out of control...

 “ Tyler! You coming back in honey?” my mom yells from the house.

 “ Ya sorry!” 

 “ Well I should get going then...” Alex says.

 “ Ya..” 

 “ Goodnight Tyler.” she says, smiling. 

 “ Goodnight.” I say. 

I then watch Alex as she walks down the driveway to the sidewalk. I watch her walk down the road until she disappears into the darkness.
