Chapter 27: Sneaking Around

After school, I meet up with Jenn and we head to my house.  

“ Why are we here? Shouldn’t we be at Tyler’s place?” Jenn says with a confused look on her face as we enter my room.  

“ Well we need to figure out where he lives first stupid.” 

 “ Ohhh.” 

 “ Ya. So get me the school directory.” 

 “ You have one of those?” 

“ Um ya? Just grab it, it’s right behind you on the shelf.”  

Jenn grabs the directory and hands it to me. 

 I flip through the pages and find the W page, and find his name. 

 Tyler Ward - Junior

14692 NW Oak St. 

Aurora CO, 28667 

 “ Perfect!” I say, smiling at Jenn. 

 I write down the address on a piece of paper, and Jenn and I head outside. 

 “ It is close by here, so we can walk.” 

 “ Ok.” Jenn says. 

 The two of us enter his neighborhood and head down a long road, searching for his house. 

 “ Here it is!” I say, pointing at the house. 

 “ How will we sneak around?” 

 “ Let’s try the backyard, I heard his studio is in his basement.” 

 “ Ok.” 

 We quietly open the side gate and tip toe into the yard. 

 We find a window that looks into the basement, and sit next to it. 

 “ Should we look?”  

“ Yes!” 

 We turn our heads slowly and look into the window. 

 We see Tyler and Alex, but they are just talking. 

 “ I can’t hear what they are saying!”  

“ Me either!” 

 We then hear a dog barking, and it looks towards us, and then we immeadilty turn our heads away from the window.  

“ Copper hush!” We hear Tyler say. “ No one is by the window.”

 We turn back and see a dog in the studio, and then the dog heads back upstairs. 

“ Few!” 

 “ That was a close one!” 

 We then listen for a bit longer, but they just keep talking. 

 “ Andrea this is boring! She’s not gonna sing Ok?”  

“ Jenn just a bit longer!”  

“ That’s what you said 5 minutes ago! I’m going ok?” 

 “ Ok fine I’m coming t-” 

  I then hear a voice. The voice on the CD.

 “ Jenn wait!” I say, grabbing her arm. 

 We look in the window and she the girl with headphones on and a microphone, singing a song. 

 “ I want to hear her better!” Jenn says, trying to lift the window up. 

 It slides up, and stays, but there was a loud clicking sound, and the music stops and we turn our heads away from the window.  

“ What was that?” the girl says. 

 “ I don’t know. Let’s keep going.” 

 “ Ok.” 

 They resume the music, and she continues to sing. 

 “ Another close call!” 

 “ Ya!” 

 We then watch her sing the rest of the song. 

 “ She’s so good!” Jenn says. 

 “ This is definitely the CD girl. This is Alex.”
