More than just Friends? (A Tyler Ward and Alex G fanfinc)

Chapter 9: First Day

~ Alex ~ 

I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off. I roll out of bed, sigh at the fact that I have to go back to school today, and start to get ready. 

I find a cute outfit and put it on, and go downstairs to eat breakfast. I pull out a box of cereal, and set it on the counter while I get the rest of the breakfast together. When I have everything, I sit down at my kitchen table and look at my phone while I eat.

While I am on my phone, it buzzes and a message pops up on my screen. I open it and it is from Tyler. I then read it and smile.  

T: Good morning Alex :) First day of school 2day! Wanna go together? I can take u :) 

I decide to text him back. 

A: Sure! Would I walk 2 ur house? 

T: No, I can pick u up. :) 

A: K thx. What time tho? 

T: How about 7:15? 

A: K sounds good. I will b outside my house waiting. 

T: K gtg finish get ready ttyl 

A: Same here, bye.

After finishing up eating breakfast, I finish getting ready and when it is time, I step outside and onto my front porch and sit on our bench while I wait for Tyler. About 5 minutes later, I see him pull up, and he waves me to come over to him. As I walk to the car, he slides his side window down and smiles at me. 

"Wow you look nice!"  

I blush, and say, "Thanks Tyler."   

"Hop in! We don’t wanna be late on our first day you know." 

"Ok." 

I go around to the passenger side and get in, and we start to drive to the school.

We get to the school, and Tyler parks in the student parking lot, and we walk into the school together, and get in line to get our schedules. 

I look around the school and say, "Wow this school is big!" 

"Ya, but you will get used to it after a few months." he says, smiling. 

 The line gets shorter, and I am up next. 

 When it’s my turn, she says my last name and get my schedule. 

 The lady handing out the schedules looked at Tyler and I, who was next to me, and said: 

"Are you guys dating?" she says, smiling.  

"Haha no-" I say. 

"We are just friends." Tyler says, looking at me, and then back at her. 

"Ya.. "

"Oh, well you guys would be cute together, just saying."

She hands Tyler his schedule and says, "Have a great first day!"

"Thanks." Tyler and I said. 

We walk over to under a staircase, out of the huge crowd and exchange schedules to see what classes we might have together. 

"Hey we have math together! That’s cool!" 

"Ya! Oh! And we also have English and acting together!" 

"Really? Yay!"

"Well we should probably get to our first class, which is English." 

"Ok let’s go!" 

We make our way upstairs and down the hall to their English class.

When we get into the class, we sit next to each other, knowing that I don't know anyone expect for Tyler. 

"Welcome to the first day class! I am your teacher Mr.Walter! You can call me Walt for short if you would like."

A random nerdy kid raises his hand.

"Yes?" says Mr. Walter 

"Will we be getting homework today?" he says, while shifting his glasses. 

"Oh! Yes! Thanks for reminding me! Class, we will be starting our first project today on the play Romeo and Juliet!" 

Tyler and Alex look at each other and roll eyes and stare at the nerdy kid. 

"I can’t believe this!" I wishper to Tyler. 

"Me either!" he wishpers back to me.  

 "OK class, so under your desk is the book that has the play in it, so please turn to page 345 and we will take turns reading the book! I will choose people to play parts, and they will come up to read it in front of the class ok?" 

The class gets out their books and turn to the page.

"Alrighty then! Let’s see...how about Alexandra playing Juliet?" 

 Alex turns bright red. 

"It’s Alex..."

"Thank you for telling me... Alex." he says, while writing a name on a clipbaord of the class list. 

"And Romeo will be played by..." he says, while scaning the room. He then stops at someone and points to him.  

 ".....Tyler!"
